I don't know about "genius" but it is a good move. What have they got to lose? Americans like it when you fess-up in an effort to improve.

well... not that my opinion counts for ****, but I went out and tried it today. The crust flavor on the hand tossed is a major improvement, but the sause tastes like Heinz ketchup instead of the usual white lable no-name **** it used to be. Impovement, yes...

Good pizza, no. Barely edible would be the most apt description I can give it. No need to eat Domino's ever again.

The Chicken Alfredo breadbowl (with extra butter/garlic of course) is freaking amazing. I have one every day for lunch. At $6, it costs the same as a meal at a decent fast food place, and fills me up more.

I'm guessing you're not in the welterweight class then?

Seriously, a chicken ALFREDO BREADBOWL with extra butter and garlic every day for lunch?
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

We were watching the Packers-Cards game on Sunday, saw the Domino's commercial & decided to give it a try. We used to order Domino's, but recently had become Papa John's converts. WORST PIZZA EVER! The kids wouldn't even eat it. Their new style is a pathetic attempt at copying Papa John's. I will give them credit for one thing though. They did promtly void the CC transaction when I called to complain.

I dont pay much attention to or get all giddy when I see a commercial for anything, that being said, Its ok Pizza but expensive as hell. Little Caesars has my vote, $5.55 for a large 1 topping......yum!:p

UGH! You need to have your tastebuds cleansed with bleach!:D I think I'd rather eat $5.55 worth of dog ****!

Back to the topic at hand. I found the commercial alluring but haven't tried it yet.

    Neither can you LMAO

    Just Fing with ya.

We have a tavern about 4 miles from me that always wins Hunterdon County's best pizza. I gotta say it is damn good. It's a thin crust and I happen to like it that way. Problem is they get so busy they can't keep up with demand sometimes and I don't blame them for not trying real hard either.
How the hell much cash can you make on a $10.00 pizza? The booze on the other hand they do well :D

Don't worry.... I love getting a quality pizza and will usually opt for it since I got several choices within a stones throw of me, but I'm hardly above wolfing down some "fast food" style pizza. I bet almost everyone here would eat it too if it was sitting in front of their mugs and they were hungry.

What, nobody here ever buys a frozen pizza from the grocery store? Pfft.... ;):p

John I never said you should quit posting the QOTD threads. I think what I asked was a valid question..... why bother with the poll if the outcome wasnt going to have any effect on whether you continue or not?

My personal oppinion on the QOTD's is this if someone doesnt like these threads then dont particpate simple as that. You have every right to post whatever you want as long as it doesnt break any rules and should continue as long as you enjoy doing it.

Btw. I know it was difficult to show restraint in your intial reply to me but you did and good on you.

Well, I just pulled off the impossible by doing a double-blind comparison all by myself, purely by virtue of the fact that I completely and stupidly forgot what I did last. I guess that getting old does have its advantages after all :D

Domino's even admitted they haven't changed their pizza in 25 yrs. How can you compete and not try to improve your product in 25 yrs??? Amazing they are still in business.

Think if McD's was still serving the same menu they were 25 yrs ago?

Local pizza stores are the ones that have kept up better with what kind of pizza people want to eat. Fresh ingredients and new combinations keeps customers coming back. Yes you'll always have pepperoni pizza and the standards like Canadian bacon and pineapple. those aren't going anywhere. but you can also improve on those two if you're willing to try. Most pizza chains aren't because it R&D costs money. And that takes away from profits.

My wife buys the Shop Rite brand of frozen pizza for my 12 year old (who wouldn't know a good slice from another) which if doctored up with oregano and locatelli taste like some decent tomato pie believe it or not.

we got a place like that here in Stevens Point, WI where I live. You can order your food Thai style. Supposedly when my friend went there they told him they wouldn't make it that hot because they thought he couldn't handle it haha. Its acutally not a Thai place but I think its just Chinese ect stuff.

and to the OP. I did try it out and thought it didn't taste all that great. I think its a good move in a way because they are allowing the customer to make the choices a bit more rather than saying screw them we are doing what we want. Me I didn't like it, but my GF on the other hand, its all she wants for pizza....

oh and Little Ceaser 12 hours old ain't bad, when there was 2 guys in my dorm that ate it about a week old, out of the trash in the guys bathroom when they were drunk. according to them it was still good.....

If you're ever in Madison go to Vientiane and order the Pad Thai. If you're ever in Milwaukee go to EE Sane and order the same thing.

Both make great Thai food. I lived 2 blocks from EE Sane when I lived in Milwaukee. There was a while where I'd order it every friday night. Good stuff.

I never eat Domino's and was considering ordering one just because they retooled it, lowered the price for now, and are offer a money back guarantee. That's a pretty good combination.
