Mine's a year-old Viewsonic 19" LCD, VG1930wm, 1440x990 resolution. It has built-in tinny speakers that I sometimes turn on to make my audio "2.2" (the display's speakers functioning as front-center audio). Prior to this, I used a refurb Sony Trinitron 17" CRT. Moving to LCD was my best hardware ugprade so far! Even the wife and kid were happy A year or two from now I want to move to FullHD 1920x1080 22" LCD. What's your current and planned upgrade monitor?

Ever since they moved to the aluminum chassis displays they have use very color accurate panels and backlights.

For me I think the Gateway 30 inch XHD3000 because it has much better video processing then any other 30 inch monitor, how ever with ATI's eyefinity tech 30inch are a waste

Get 3 24inch Samsung come out at less the half the price and way more pixels.\

That is easy the best option out on the market right now.

I've found that particular model very unreliable. Too many forums reporting it dying early on in its life.

How do you wire/connect a monitor tv that is just the monitor that has no speakers or tv tuner like the Pioneer Elite Pro-141fd plasma monitors?

If I can remember correctly I was told that you need:

HD cable box (does it have to be wireless or satellite?)
    a/v reciever
    satellite speakers

How does an HD cable box keep an HDMI 1080p signal to the monitor?
What specific type of reciever is needed?
How are the satellite speakers connected to the cable box or reciever or?

    This is the tv: http://hometheatermag.com/flat-panel...a_hd_monitor/#

thats not really a true monitor other then the fact thats it has no speakers lol.
Generally real monitors of any thing close to that size are over 4x the ress.
Tvs are actually very far behind when it comes to how many pixels they can display. (you can get 23 inch monitors that have higher resolutions then 1080p)

Any thing with an HDMI or component video out will get you the 1920 x 1080 signal. ( I don't know what fool came up with 1080p do they think we are too dumb to understand a resolution?!?!?!)
