need to replace CS400, RT55's
Hello,
I'm looking for some speaker recommendations.
My setup consists of CS400/RT55 (front)/TSi100 (surround) speakers. Unfortunately, my CS400 needs to be replaced. I'm not an audiophile but I'm assuming I would also want to replace the RT55's.
I'd like some recommendations as to Polk Audio speakers I can buy today that would be equivalent to my current setup.
Thanks,
Jay

Can I ask why you're replacing those speakers?
The RT55's are very capable performers, heck if you want to get rid of them send them my way (if you're near Chicago).
What does your system consist of? Maybe you're just not getting the full potential of your speakers (by having them underpowered). Regardless, if you're looking for something new I'd say give us a budget, your needs, room size and you'll get plenty of suggestions.

Thanks. One of the drivers in the CS400 is blown.
Should I just replace the CS400, or would I also want to get matching front speakers as well? It's going in a finished basement ~1000 sq. ft. I am willing to spend whatever I need to to get equivalent sound to what I have now.
Thanks,

Those 55's are great speakers like Freddy said. Do what you can to either replace the driver in the 400 or try to find another 400 used. Alot cheaper than purchasing new gaer to get equivalent sound.

+1. The cs400 is a beast...I loved mine and I've read good things about the 55's. I try to get a replacement driver or another cs400.
Otherwise, a costlier option might be some rti6's and a csi5. -
Dibs on the RT55s!!!

Repair what you have. If you're not happy with them that could mean one or a few things:
1) Your room treatments are subpar
2) The equipment you have attached should be upgraded
3) You really do want to upgrade, which would mean a TON of money.Main Surround -

Thanks for the feedback guys. I really didn't even think you could get the speaker repaired but thanks for letting me know that was a possibility. I I appreciate it.
