Now I understand that they are custom, but 1200 bucks. Wow. Seriously I could take the ones I got off polkdirect for 300.00 and do the same for about 200 bucks. I don't know what he did to rewire them or anything but wow.
I just thought others might find it interesting.

I'd love to see that person come in here and try to sell them to us.

"Special price for Polk members $1,000!"

I'll admit they look sharp, but jesus man that's asking too much.

Hey Freddy we should totally take mine and do the same thing and try to sell them for 800.00 on the website. That would be oh a profit of 300-400 bucks. If I did what he did and sell for 1200 thats a profit of 700-800 bucks. I just can't beleive it. I mean I could probably even do it for more seeing my brother can redo the whole speaker cabinet for nothing. Some people I just can't beleive what they try and do.

    No kidding lol

I honestly don't know what bugs me more though, that which you posted above or this - http://chicago.craigslist.org/chc/ele/1500666536.html

That stereo's gotta be years old, and on top of that it probably retailed that much (but sold for less) when it was brand new!

Well IDK you know that cabinet's gotta be worth you know like 500 bucks. haha.
acutally I found one the other day and I'm going to have to look for it again. The guy was selling a TV for less than the stand. He wanted 1500 bucks total for a 56 inch tv or something like that with 500 obo for the TV and 1000 for the stand. Now I understand stands can be expensive but if your paying more for the stand than the TV I think you need to reconsider what your doing.
Damn I just looked for it and now can't find it. Oh well, it was good for a laugh when I saw it.

I have that same stereo. Fortunately It was in a family members basement for a fear years and I got it for free. I could really use $1500 though so maybe I should sell it

That price isn't really too far off the norm. 15TL's are pretty uncommon.

They look like they're in pretty nice shape too...but the pics could be better.

    They're worth a look if you're local.

He says in the ad that he paid $3000 for them originally...If that's true, he got a HUGE stick rammed up his ****, because as far as I know, the 15TL's were around $1500/pair new.

Last couple sets i saw sell went for $300 or under... Hurmph.

Well... i guess i'd have to hear them. I just have a hard time thinking i'd want to pay that kind of money for old Polks that aren't SDAs.

I would love to have a set of 15TL's. They just look so badass. I would probably just sit and stare at them. Those are like a Playboy centerfold to me. :p

And that listing has expired/deleted. What did he do to the 70's?

oh wow, that was under the new today section on the site lol. He basically just painted them black and did some other touch ups really. he stated he changed the wiring but didn't say how or anything like that. To me it just look like at most he removed the vinal veneer and replaced it with wood, which if you know what your doing isn't that hard to do, and yeah that was about it.
