So hear are some pictures of the 1.2 TL's we got yesterday. Like I said before, the third tweeter down on each cabinet are not working so I will probably have to order some RDO's

Any suggestions on better placement is greatly welcomed.

    Nice!

Wouldn't they work better located say in front of the windows? They seem a bit close to the walls.

    Either way... looking good.

Thank you, yes, they are too close to the wall. This is my parents set up and my mother is the apposing force in us moving them closer together in front of the windows. luckily I do not have this problem with my set up at home:)

Very nice setup , I JUST passed on one of those NAD 218 THX amps the other day...it was cheap and looked to be in very good shape. He wanted 375 for both the amp and preamp together, and I am betting he would do the amp alone for less. Talk about under utilizing the amp, his source was a tiny little XPS laptop :)

In my research on the amp, it said it was a dual mono design...so be careful with your new SDA's.

Since the mom already conceded to the left speaker overlaping with the window a bit, try it on the right side too; might need to move the sub over on the other side of the tv though....

    Either way, awesome looking place.

Wow I love all that wood!!!, It looks like the polks were built just for that room.

The sad thing is that the Polks need to be in front of the windows, if they were then your system would sound really great.

Do you have any soft surfaces in that room?, I'm afraid that at loud volumes you're going to need to add some acoustic panels.

Since your Parent's don't have curtains you could use the 1.2's as curtains!

Thank you, you are absolutely right, I am finding that placement is everything with speakers and these are no exception. We will be moving them in to a better listening position somehow. There are a lot of soft surfaces in the room but it could use more.

I really like the mods you have done to yours BTW!

That is a sick price! Are they still available?

I noticed there is a Balanced/Unbalanced switch on the back... what should that be at? Prob a pretty obvious question but I just wanted to make sure so we don't damage the SDA's.

I have used dual mono amps with SDA's in the past and had no problems, do you think its OK?

Thanks for all the Info everyone!

Remove the breakables from the tops of the speakers, or they might just remove themselves!

The Balanced/Unbalanced is if your using balanced connections (the XLR connectors) or unbalanced (dual mono, what your using now)...personally I would use the balanced (pro audio user here), but you don't need to (especially if it sounds fine as it is (balanced connections eliminate interference on the lines but open potential for a ground loop).
