Would it be a mistake to mix a set of LSi9's and a LSi Center with a set of FXiA6 surrounds?

I ran a set of FXi6 with LSi7's and it was fine. When/if you upgrade to the LSi series for surrounds it will be an improvement, but you'll be fine mixing them IMO.

Shouldn't be a problem. I used a 400csi for my center with my LSI9's for a couple years and even that was fine. Ultimately got the LSIc mostly because of weight and size issues, plus it didn't hurt that it was a perfect tonal match.
You may want to get the LSI surrounds some day, but I think your current set up will serve you well.
