Least expensive current made polk speakers which would be voice matched to my RT800's

Hello there I'm dave,

I'm kinda new here. I have a pair of 1998 RT800 speakers that I have had in storage since 2001, they are in mint condition not a scratch on them, original boxes and everything. I bought them back in the age when I actually made an event out of listening to music.

I originally thought I would have used them again sooner, but when I moved and left them at my parents house for a few years, the temptation of cheap HTIB's got to me. And of course with the advent of HDMI, my 2004 Sony Home theatre in a box is useless to me, (or relatively so for what I want to do).

So I am faced with a dilemma, do I again fall in to the trap of another HTIB (to be outdated in the future) and sell my RT800's? I have been looking at an Onkyo HT-S7200 package.

Or even more perplexing if I want to buy new speakers today.......what would be the proper series for voice matching new speakers (Center,Sub, Surrounds) with my existing speakers (RT 800) <<remember RT800's are the speakers I have in my possession.

Also if I decide to put these babies on Ebay, is $250 Realistic for a Perfect, not a scratch, original boxes and lightly used for 3 years set?

Thanks

Dave Y.

    I'm not sure what center would match but DON'T go for another HTiB. If you really want to go the Satelite sized mains route then look at energy Take or polk RM series or any number of other good speaker makes who make smaller systems as well and then add your own good sub and receiver or pre/pro with amp.

    or better yet keep those 800s and find a closely matching center :)
    Main 2ch -
    BlueSound Node->Ethereal optical cable->Peachtree Audio Nova 150->GoldenEar Triton 2+
    TT - Pro-ject Classic SB with Sumiko Bluepoint.

    TV 3.1 system -
    Denon 3500 -> Dynaudio Excite 32/22

    If you give polk a call they can give you that info.
