"Modify" RTA 8t's?

Hello All.
I have this crazy idea running through my head about modifying my 8t's. There are some radiators on Ebay which are out of the 5Jr+'s, I believe, and was thinking of cutting some holes in the 8's to see if I could get deeper bass. I was thinking of putting the radiators, one each, in the front in place of the two ports. If I could get two more maybe put one each in the back as well. Problem with the back is that they would have to go above the crossover since there isn't enough room below it. That would place them about in the middle/above middle of the cabinet. The 8's are in really good shape except for a little damage from a prior shipping incident. I do have the upgraded tweets as well.
Since the 1C's didn't work out I'm missing, obviously, the deeper bass in the lower volumes, hell, at all volumes. The 11t's or tl's would be ideal, as I used to have the 11tl's, but there are none for sale around me. I did find some 11t's on fleebay but they are in Florida! I'm not much for shipping these older speakers anymore.
I've looked at the newer Polks and I'm just not impressed I guess. All that plastic just doesn't give me the greatest feeling about Polk like I have with the their older stuff. Plus I really like the "vintage" sound the older Polks produce. Maybe I'm just a softy and just want to stay in my youth, I don't know. But, for me, these are still the best years (SDA, RTA, Monitor) that Polk ever had.
Maybe I am really nuts..., or should just wait on some local 11's.

Wait for 11's"Appreciation of audio is a completely subjective human experience. Measurements can provide a measure of insight, but are no substitute for human judgment. Why are we looking to reduce a subjective experience to objective criteria anyway? The subtleties of music and audio reproduction are for those who appreciate it. Differentiation by numbers is for those who do not".--Nelson Pass Pass Labs XA25 | EE Avant Pre | EE Mini Max Supreme DAC | MIT Shotgun S1 | Pangea AC14SE MKII | Legend L600 | BlueSound Node 3 - Tubes add soul!

Second that. Re-engineering a speaker system is quite an undertaking.
