They finally played a team with some ability and got spanked.

How did Arizona beat the Giants though? I was in shock over that one. It wasn't even that the Giants played bad necessarily. Penalties and turnovers were rife in that game and I think that's what hurt them.

Dallas was sloppy but they had a confident win over Atlanta. Atlanta needs to convert downs and they need to produce yardage. When you have the ball, sucking down the clock only helps if you actually score at the end of the drive. They could use some better special teams though. Patrick Crayton was running through them like a greased pig all afternoon. They also need to work on their O-line. Ryan was harassed the entire game. No relief at all. Not producing is one thing but not giving your producers the actual chance to produce anything is another.

I didn't see any other games. I was busy helping a friend move. Philly plays Washington tonight though. The Redskins are looking to put a hurtin' on someone, especially with the stupid loss to the Chiefs and Philly is reeling from that ugly loss to the Raiders. Both are lookin' for a solid win. The Redskins need this win to remain even hopeful of a wild card slot at this point. It won't bump them up in the standings but it will drag Philly down to more than a game back from Dallas. Philly needs the win stay viable for a playoff berth as well. This will be an interesting game I think.

So how'd your team do??

The Falcons' secondary got exposed - plain and simple. How ironic... after all these years of that being their sole strength, it's now their Achille's heel.

Should have gone for it on 4th and 2.

As for their O-line - I think going 18 consecutive quarters without allowing a sack is pretty impressive.

The Vikings dominated just about every stat possible in this game except the one the matters, the final score. I would hardly call that getting spanked. The Vikings had a couple penalties called against them that were just flat out bad calls, including one that negated a touchdown, which would have given them the lead. That is how it goes sometimes, but at 6-1 I am happy with what we have so far and look forward to the Packers again next Sunday.:)

I went 50/50 with my two main teams, the Giants lost to AZ and my Colts blew out the Rams. I'm not sure, but I think that's a high school team from somewhere in St Louis???

The problem I have with the Colts right now is that they haven't really played anybody that's good. We'll find out how good they really are on November 15 when they play the Patriots, who are doing quite well at this point.

The 49ers are my sentimental favorite team, but I don't count them since they're not really in contention most of the time. They've had some wins, but I don't really think they'll be there at the end of the year.

The game coming up this week between the Colts and the 49ers is going to be tough, that's a no win and win/win situation all at the same time for me.

Considering that you thought they would have a loosing record by now...

When you have a line of high school level teams to play, even a moderately good team will beat up on the bad team and score the win.

And dominating stats means nothing to anyone except record keepers and fantasy football players. The Steelers beat the Vikings. The best team the Vikings played before them has been The Ravens who have been struggling. Before that, the Browns, the Lions, the 49'ers, the Packers and the Rams. The only other team with any kind of talent is the Packers and honestly, I'm seeing them as a 8-8 team this year.

Who do the Vikings play in the future? Packers, Lions, Seahawks, Bears, Cardinals, Bengals, Panthers, Bears and Giants. They have a cake schedule and that betrays them. The Vikings have an over-the-hill has been who should have gone out on top like he said he wanted to do. The Vikings suck and your inability to recognize weaknesses that lesser teams lack the experience to exploit is tiresome as well as your cheer leading.

And I honestly don't know what game you were watching but the "great" Adrian Peterson gained 69 yards in 18 attempts. That's less than 4 yards a carry. That sucks. Favre threw a whole lot with 51 attempts but only completed 34. That's roughly 65% completion rate but with only 334 yards for 51 attempts, that's sad. What's even sadder is that the "great" Brett Favre averaged less than 10 yards a completion.

Sure the Steelers had much lower offensive numbers but two of the touchdowns they had came from the defense which manhandled the Vikings the entire game. What was the score again? 27-17? The Steelers offense didn't have to with the game, the Defense's 12 points did it for them. But yeah, the Vikings so totally out-played the Steelers!

Seems like the Vikings did alot of work that got them nowhere. If you can't complete a 3rd and 2 and convert the down, you aren't going to go very far at all.

Adrian Peterson had 140 combined yards and a touchdown... As you so eloquently pointed out, the final score was 27-17, and 14 of the points scored came from Pittsburg's defense. Minnesota's defense dominated the great Big Ben all day long, and I am happy about that. My offense had a 400 yard game, and I am happy about that too. Were it not for a couple bad breaks the outcome would have been very much different, and I see that as a pretty productive day. Pittsburg won, and their coach would even tell you that they were not the better team yesterday, and he was there. If supporting your team is tiresome, I won't appologize for that. You deliberately seeking to start an argument where none exists, is tiring. After all, it is you that asked the question...
    So how'd your team do??

meh, the Vikes were due for a Loss....Pittsburgh at home are no slouches even in there worst years.

what strikes me funny about this year is how Indy is quietly pounding on everyone, thus undefeated. no one mentions them much.

Glad New Orleans woke up in time to squeak out the win in Miami....Christ! oh well, they wouldn't be the first team ever to fall asleep on what they consider to be a weak opponent. Hell, thats practically a Jets trademark.

Glad my Jets chalked up a nice decisive morale boosting win, who cares if it's about as rewarding as beating up a Hospice patient......a win's a win baby!!!!

I missed the Giants game, I picked the Giants in my pool but knew all along Arizona could win that game. It's not like New Orleans teeing off against them last week didnt expose every **** in there not too impressive armor. DOH!!

Oh, and Vikings fans might want to prepare for a second loss in a row in the Tundra, Rogers and the rest of the Pack has been playing like men possessed lately....they will be bringing their A game back at there own house. Brett will have to be flawless in his old house to pull off a win.

The problem for me though is that they haven't played anyone that's really good. If they beat the Patriots on November 15, and that's a BIG if given the way the Patriots are playing, then you'll start to hear people talking about them running the table, unless of course the 49ers or Texans hand them a loss before then.

No, you're wrong, it was pretty much meant for you.

And the defense can't score extra points because the place kicker is on the offense/special teams. So the defense can only score touchdowns and safeties. Therefore, the defense only scored 12 points. But the Steelers BEAT the Vikings by 10 so the defensive touchdowns won the game.

Oh, and by the way, I actually prefer the Vikings to the Packers. I like the Vikings. I just can't suffer Vikings fans and take every chance I can to put the screws to them.

BUT, they are in a division with some impressive occupants in the Bears and Packers and honestly, if you go back far enough, the Lions as well. They've never been a super stand-out team to me. What I really wish is that they stopped playing mediocre teams and work them in to the NFC East team schedules more often. If the Vikings are as good as Vikings fans think they are, that would be shown, without a doubt, against the NFC East teams because all of them, except Washington at this point, had defense that are brutally punishing like the Steelers.

The Vikings didn't beat themselves. They went up against one of the best defense in the league and couldn't hack it. A mistake is a mistake. A bad team doesn't even recover, a good team recovers that mistake and uses it against you. A great team runs your mistake back 77 yards for a touchdown.

Nah, I think NO was just the better team last week. I think the Gints were the better team this week but Arizona's D figured them out. Watch the 2nd half, the Cards D was jumping all over the O-line 'cause they figured out Manning's snap count. He'd shout a bunch of jibberish and then yell "OMAHA!". after that, a short count and the ball is in play. But after I saw it, it was like the yellow lights before the green at the dragstrip. it was easy to anticipate the cadence and the blitz came through, every down, and pressured Manning like a trash compacter.

That I think I'm doubting. The pack is good but still young and they have a great week one week and come pretty dang close to falling apart thee next week. I think the crowd is going to be a gigantic factor in that one just like they are in Philly. I don't think Favre is going to be able to do audibles at all the noise is going to be so loud. And don't think it won't be. Those tickets are getting snapped up like crazy and they aren't exactly cheap.

The Texans are finding their groove. If we can keep our guys off of the injury report and stay consistent, we'll have a better year than the last. We play the Colts twice next month, and I'm hoping for 1 win. Our brand new defense is settling in nicely, and Schaub is arguably one of the most underrated quarterbacks in the league. I'd like to see us beat the Colts just once, if we can pull that off then the rest of the season might be easy including the Patriots at the end of the season. If we can't keep it together for the Bills/Seahawks/Jaguars then we'll know we have a lot more work to do before next year. Next month will be a huge teller of where this team is going. One thing is for sure, the Texans will be a team to watch over the next few years. It should only get better from here on out.

Aaron Rodgers is one of the best QBs in the NFL (I was VERY skeptical and thought he'd be injury prone). Their ONLY downfall this season has been the atrocious play of the offensive line and self-defeating penalties. They didn't give up a single sack yesterday against the Browns, so that's good news, although it isn't saying much since it's the Browns. We'll see what happens next week with a good pass rush.

The Vikings are an incredibly overrated team. They're very good, but there are other teams in the league who are much better. I will cheer for Bill Belichick's Pats over them. So mark the tape.

Butt Favre is a great QB, with faults, but he's a goddamn liar and a piece of **** that lacks integrity. I'm sad to say that, because I grew up watching the man and have many great memories. The **** over this off season was the straw that broke the camels back.

I'm not going to act like I give a rats **** anymore about a hired gun whose good ole' country bumpkin' "I don't care about records," stuff was nothing but a schtick. He's a selfish player with an ego problem. It needs to get checked.

Fook Butt Favre and fook the Vikings and their purple uniforms even harder. I hope they keep winning games because the fall will just hurt that much more. :D

Nah, I think he's still got it. It's his rookie year and the media that is now abandoning him were the ones that put him on the pedestal and now refuse to support him up there.

I wouldn't be so worried about the times he sucked. He is on the Jets, and unlike the Vikings (sic) they are good but not great. They have bad games and Sanchez gets affected. But when he's on it, he's a joy to watch. He's got raw talent and if he gets himself in a position with good coaching and a good team around him, he's going places. The Jets could have that but they are coming off a disastrous time with Brett "The Man" Favre. That was the worst thing The Jets could have done for their future. They should be a playoff contender now instead of another year in the "rebuilding" stages. But Sanchez is young and talented and they can build a team around him.

Given what's happened with Favre SINCE he left the Packers, I no longer have any doubt that he shoulders the lion's share of the blame.
What exactly happened that makes you think that way? That he went to play for the team he wanted to play and Packers refused to let him in the first place?

I was one of Favre's biggest fans for all of the years that he was in Green Bay. I thought he was a great QB and a guy who really embraced a franchise (and vice versa). What he did to the Packers and to the Jets was inexcusable...........I have heard people say that the franchise did him wrong, but I don't see it. They had an heir apparent in Rodgers who was primed and Favre was on the downward spiral of his career. The franchise needed to move on and did so with class. He drug them thjrough the mud, strung the along and then crapped on the franchise that supported him for so many years. Then he goes and does the same thing to the Jets. He is a selfish piece of doo doo who holds no regard to me anymore. He will be a first ballot hall of famer and I respect his skills, but I found myself with a huge smile when he fumbled the ball in the red zone and threw the INT for a touchdown to seal the game for the Steelers.

By the way, taking nothing away from Favre's ability, Childress is a god damned genius for what he has done with this offense. Peterson is a beast and one of the best I have seen in a long time. The way that Childress has game planned to play to the strengths of a running game and a short passing game with occassional shots down the field is nice to see. A coach who actually game plans to play to the strengths of his team vs. being married to a system is refreshing to see.
