does this seem like a good price for these vintage pioneers?

audio review from the few reviews they have seemed like they were pretty good but not sure they would be worth $300.

    I used to sell those way back when. Not bad for rock music, but not accurate either. Lots of folks liked that sound though.

    I have kenwood 777-d's or 888d's similar to those and for motown and classic rock(cranked up), I think they can't be beat. As for their price I think 250.00 has been the max for that style. With this economy I doubt you could get 150.00. but just maybe 200 max. It's even hard to sell Klipsch Heresy's for 280.00 nowadays.
    Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them.

    Those sure look like the reason I got my first Polks! I responded to a CL post for a set of RTA 12c's. When I showed up to listen to them the seller told me the reason he was selling the Polks was he had found his 'holy grail' speaker and pointed to the Pioneers that looked like the ones above (butt ugly if you ask me). He said he has wanted a set of the Pioneers since he was a kid in high school, I put in the 'Oh brother where art tho' soundtrack and turned it up. The seller said 'hot damn that sounds good', I thought he might be getting sellers remorse so I pulled out my CD and said I'll take them! Thank you Pioneer for making my RTA's happen!

    Not good sounding; if you like the (vintage) Polk sound, you won't like them.

    I used to have 2 pr. of the kenwoods and with 4 playing along the same wall, the sound seemed to be coming from a 18' x 10' high wall. Definately a CLUB type environment sound :D. I never thought to sit and listen critically with them and never will. But man are they efficient and easy to drive.. ;)
