not a bad thing.. the SDA 2A is a fine speaker.... that price seems a bit high though for the 2A. the SDA 2B will have no raiser and oak (usually) top and bottom.. that distinguises it from the 2A.

The 2A's are some fine speakers...I've got a pair myself and love them. Price is reasonable IMO. I pair $200 for mine.

Those could be 2B's though. The earlier 2B's used the 2A style cabinets, but still had the pin/blade IC. They're fairly hard to come by in that style.

They look like 2A's, but there's a chance that they're very early 2B's.

    danger boy,

Thank you for taking the time to post the pictures.
Do you like the way sub bass radiators look ? To me it looks like they're peeling away ? What kind of issues is there with that ?
It's also pretty obvious that the cabinets on the lower portion will need some finessing, no big deal to be sure, but nonetheless will have to be fixed.

I apologize for not shedding more light on what my intentions are with these speakers. I have been driving myself crazy over what to do for a "high powered" center channel setup and I thought some more of the Vintage Polk speaker lines are probably the only speakers that are going to make me happy.
I was considering 2 new LSI-C's, but I just don't think they're going to get the job done for what I'm after.(I could also be totally dead-**** wrong to?...)
I figure I can just basically place 2 of these SDA's side by side fairly close together, run a couple hundred watts or so to each speaker and call it a day.

In all honesty what I thought would be perfect would be if I could get a pair of SDA-CRS+ for tthe center channels, but I just can't seem to be able to track any down.....

What do you think danger boy ?

IIRC, the peeling away is pretty common for the radiators... it's just a faus covering peeling away and doesn't really affect any audio quality. Someone with more knowledge should back me up on this though because I have no first hand knowledge of this, just repeating what I remember seeing in other posts.

BB3, I have never heard of anyone use SDA's as center channel speakers. Because of their design and how they produce music... it could sound very odd. Don't know for sure, never tried it.

Tell us what your main front speakers consist of.. and we can recommend a good center channel speaker that will match sonically.

The passive radiator peeling is very common and does not affect the sound.

    danger boy,

Again thank you for all of your time and
help in helping me with this situation.

The front left and right channels will be
my SDA-SRS's. The rear surrounds will
be my SDA-SRS 1.2TL's and the side
    surrounds will be my RTA15TL's.
All speakers will be Bi-Amped except for
the RTA's because there are no provisions
    for Bi-Amping.
This is why danger-boy I'm so obsessed
about what I'm going to use for my
    center channels.
The center channels will each be powered
by 2 Carver TFM15cb's, with each one
run mono, which if I'm not mistaken,
will put at least 280 watts to each center
    channel speaker.

    Well.....after all that, I was recently PM'd
by a fellow forum member, and he has
what I've really always wanted for my
center channels. A pair of SDA-CRS's
with the original speaker stands !!!! I
think I'm going to pass out.hahaha.
I guess someone is really looking out
for me and I'm totally estatic to say
    the least.

I'm confident that he and I can put a
deal together and make my dreams
    come true.

In closing, I want to thank you again
danger boy for sharing your knowledge
with me on this subject and I would
also like to thank Paden501 for getting
my wheels turning again about thinking
about what I was going to use for my
    center channels.
