I have an Onk 806 running a DSW Pro 500 sub, RTiA7 fronts, CSiA6 center and FXiA6 surrounds. (SOUNDS FANTASTIC AS IS) I got a free set of OWM3's in my last order from Crutchfield. Would they be worthy candidates to use as surround backs to convert to 7.1? Thanks.

They'd work fine as surround backs. The OWM3's were designed so that they'd work well with basically any Polk speaker.

In either case, timbre matching isn't as crucial with surrounds as it is with the fronts/center. The surround backs carry the smallest portion of the soundtrack out of all the speakers...so they'd probably work fine.

Sounds like a nice system you've put together there. If the OWM3's don't do it for ya, look into another pair of FXiA6's, or a pair of RTiA3's.

    Curt's right,

Remember, at this POINT, the two back channels carry the LEAST INFORMATION. And OWM3's are MORE THAN ADEQUATE for that. They're also unbelievably PLACEMENT friendly....which is important if you have room space problems.
