Pioneer BDP51-FD is making my 60's sound bright?

So I've got the Pioneer player, and it's hooked up to my SC-05 via a monoprice hdmi 1.3 cable, for BR's and AQ Sidewinders for cd's. Here's the problem: My 60's sound bright, (for the 1st time), and I'm wondering if it's the cables-neither have really played long enough to get 'burned in', the players, OR my speakers fault?
Just looking for feedback, to see if anyone else noticed this with this player
Thanks

I've got the same player,, I would suggest try swapping cables,,which is what I did,,initially I swapped pre's, but went back to the original setup,,you might wanna try something like a MIT-T-2 between the Pioneer and your pre. Good luck,,let us know what happens.JC approves....he told me so. (F-1 nut)

The Pioneer BDP-51FD is a fine Bluray and CD player.
You may notice that your whole frequency response and soundstage improves.
If you haven't already done so, upgrade your FW to 1.32.

This cable burn-in you mention is myth.
I'm surprised it is still perpetuated on this forum.

WTF?! I'm trying to do the f/w update, but my pc, won't 'open' the iso file? It's xp?I refuse to argue with idiots, because people can't tell the DIFFERENCE!

I followed those directions. I'll explain what I did:
Downloaded the zipped file to my desktop
Extracted the file to another file folder on my desktop
Put a blank CDR in to the burner, and copied the file to the cd.
I am NOT getting the 'folder' image, but the iso image on the cdr.
I cannot open the iso image to check the contents???I refuse to argue with idiots, because people can't tell the DIFFERENCE! -

Please don't make false assumptions and play fair.
I hope you hear me.
Cheers.
If I am wrong then I apologize but that doesn't let you off the hook for poking fun at my hearing disability for the second time. -
Here's what I'm getting, when I right click, or dbl click::
"Window can not open this file:
File: BDP_0551FD_Ver132.iso
To open this file, windows needs to know what program created it. Windows can go online to look it up automatically, or you can manually select from a list of programs on your computer
what do you want to do?
Use the web service to find the appropriate program
or
select the program from a list"
When I click on web, it takes me to websites that offer the iso software for $$$?I refuse to argue with idiots, because people can't tell the DIFFERENCE! -

Correct me if I am wrong.
but don't you need some sort of ISO burning software?
I had the same problem with my Sony. Then I downloaded an ISO program off of the internet. An Viola. It worked.
Disregard if you have already done this..

I didn't know that you actually had a real hearing problem.
Sorry friend, no harm was meant on my end.
I thought that your nickname was just a facetious one as so many are.
I hope you can understand why since this is an audio forum.
See false assumptions do get us into trouble.
I hope we are ok now.
No problem, however I still disagree with you about cable burn in and cables making a difference.:p -
LOL! Thanks xcapri79. I'm FINALLY all set. I went in a lot of wrong directions, but I finally got the burning software downloaded off the net, installed and burned the cd for the fw update. Just finished, and rechecked the version.
Good to go!
Btw, if anyone needs a Pioneer OFFICIAL disc, I should be receiving mine in about 3 weeks:eek::p
As a follow up, I checked a couple of other sources besides the 2 I checked, and it appears, it MAY just be the sources, and not anything with my system.
Thanks again for all the help.I refuse to argue with idiots, because people can't tell the DIFFERENCE! -
Obieone, if for some reason you still can't get the firmware copied to a disk, PM me you home addy and I'll mail you the disk I made. If it helps I used Nero to create mine so if I could be of any assistance in helping you create one over the phone let me know and I'll PM you my phone number.Money Talks, Mine says Goodbye Rob!!!!

Thanks for pointing that out Ricardo,, don't know what I was thinking.Expect a cable sale from me soon.:cool:JC approves....he told me so. (F-1 nut) -
so far from what I've seen, different ics make a huge difference in sound quality. I've switched from monster cable to mit avt3's and my system has never sounded so bright - just horrible. I'm gonna give them more time to burn in, and if my sound doesn't improve, they're outta here.
