Can anyone let me know what a decent set goes for nowadays? I saw a set on Craigslist for Appleton, WI, which has the original boxes, cable, etc..., for $450. I'm guessing he's the original owner.

    There are always those one in a million bargains that most of us never get but that aside from that they seem to go from $400/$450 to $550/$600. If the ones you are looking at truly are in good shape the $450 would be a good deal. Original owner, boxes, etc. would make it even more of a bargain.
    Sony 60'' SXRD 1080p
    Amp = Carver AV-705THX 5-Channel
    Processor = NAD T747
    Panasonic BD35 Blu-Ray
    Main = SDA-1C Studio with RD0s, spikes, XO rebuild, rings, I/C upgrade
    Center=Polk CS10, Surround = Athena Dipoles, Sub= Boston 12HO
    Music/Video Streaming = Netgear NEO550
    TT = Audio Technica

    I couldnt believe how hard a time this guy had selling his 1C's....kept dropping them down on craigslist for a week or so until he hit 300 bucks :eek:

    I dont know if they sold, or if he just decided to say screw it I'll keep em for anything less then 300. They were beautiful.

    I'd guess that that price is less than one third of what those speakers sold for when they were new........and that's not even taking the devaluation of the dollar into account. "No Brainer", I'd say. In the end, it's really just a question of what are incredible, no longer manufactured, somewhat rare speakers like those worth to you.:)

    Hi Fongo I bought SDA-SRS2's in Tuscon and brought them back to BC in March. Had no trouble at the border and I didn't have to pay any tax as I was away for over 7 days.

    How would the tax be calculated on something that was not new? I have no idea how border taxes work.

    It's based on the declared value of the goods. Depending on what it is the tax is higher or lower. Declare the value too low though and they reject your claim and tax it through the roof. Since Geoff is bringing me the speakers he'll have to pay the tax as if it's a sale. We'll just call them $250.00 for border purposes and tax should be less than $30.00.

    I've got a set of 1C Studio's i'm looking to sell. Will throw in a pair of studio CRS+'s as well, with stands. Moving to an Apt and need the space. If any of you are near Midland, TX and interested, let me know. Looking for $500 for it all if interested, the 1C's are in very good shape but the CRS's are rather rough looking. Both sound excellent and are fully functional though. Willing to deliver within 2 hours or so if you'll pay the gas. I'd post in the Garage Sale but i do not have enough postings...
