Toshiba HD-A30 won't power on?

Has anyone had any issues with their Toshiba HD-A30... I've had mine since February of last year. I've only watched about 12 hours worth of movies on it and now it is dead. Will not power back on. To top it all off, Transformers is in it... stuck...

I was wondering if anyone had any of the same issues and if anyone knows how to fix it or at least diagnose it. It only has a 1 year warranty, so I don't have the option of sending it to Toshiba to get it fixed for free.

Any help would be great!!!

Thanks in advance!!!

Has it been plugged in the entire time? Sometimes just unplugging a unit and powering it down allows it to 'reboot' itself. As for getting the DVD out...you can just open up the unit (not recommended by Manufacturers but quite workable) and take it out!

It sounds, though, that you have more of a problem than that! I can't remember if the Toshiba has a detachable power cord but make sure it is secure if it does. Other than that, it is possible the unit may need repair?

If unplugging doesn't work, try holding the power button for like 10 seconds or so. It does a reset. If none of that works, I suspect you have a paperweight on your hands (Although you could probably take the drive out and use it in a computer). There should be a manual eject hole (use a paperclip) once you get the front face off.

Thanks for the replies... Going to check it out now...

I've tried unplugging it... I'll try holding the power button to see if that does anything... If not, I'll try toshiba, I doubt I'll have any luck with them though... Worst case, I'll just have to pull it apart and see if there is a fuse or transformer (not the movie) that can be replaced or what not.
