Thanks God I already got my sub (PSW505). Having said that the total sum is sort of awesome. I am now a firm believer that the bass comes around after a few weeks of "break in". That was my experience with the Monitor 40's anyway, so we'll see. They sound really great, but lack suitable bass without the sub.

For the price I'm happy!

Monitor 40's $129
Monitor 70's $360
PSW505 $249
CS2 $149 (I'm going to wait 2 more weeks for a $30 code however...)
H/K 147 $103 (Gonna win a 354 for $300 or less... I hope)

Regards,
Randy

I am glad you like em Randy I knew you wouldn't be dissapointed. I will have to dissagree with you on them not having "suitable" bass though. I have disconnected my sub a few times because of late night "consideration" for my neighbors and I have to say I was surprised how well they did. Not to say they were knocking me back in my seat with the bass they were putting out, but without even disabling the sub output on my Onkyo and changing the settings on my 70's on my Onkyo, I was pleased by how well they did. Just my $.02, glad you are happy with your setup though, pretty much the same as mine.

I have to agree with you completely. The bass isn't extraordinary out of these bad boys, but it's more than capable of filling in the low end to some point.

Hopefully you'll be able to wait long enough for that $30 code Randy. It's tough, but that's $30 that could come in handy somewhere else. You're somewhat ahead of me now because I still haven't found a sub I want...well I haven't found the right deal on a sub i want I should say. I've found lots of subs that I want, but can't afford:( Glad you're enjoying the setup Randy.

I think once you start getting more power to the 70's you will get more of the bass you're looking for.

    Randy,
It has been my experience that new speakers need a few weeks of "break-in" time to begin to mellow out the highs, and fill in the lows.

I recently bought a CSI-A4 center, the highs sounded so harsh, I almost returned it, but after a week or so it really mellowed out, I now prefer it over my LSIC for movie watching.

    Enjoy your new system.

I'm set on ordering a pair in Cherry in the next couple days from Newegg as well. Just too good of a deal to pass up.

Ya newegg has some good deals right now and thats why I bought a new system. Cant wait to get it in the mail. wondering if I should wait on a sub or buy one now. Kinda spend enough money on new speakers, around a $900 or so.
