Tube Pre Amp's and CDP

Well i have been looking for a preamp, Had my mind set on a GFP750 Adcom to go with a Adcom GFA585, would really like to try the BADA HD23 CDP as well.
Would looking into a tube pre with the Adcom 585 be worth it? I have been going round and round with this, Or should i just keep it simple and go with a Rotel or Adcom pre amp? after going over to Mike's house it has me wanting to try something different. I want to keep the Adcom for now, so would it make sense to just go the route i was going? and try tubes at a later date?
My mind is all over the board here, and i thought if i turned to you guys for a little help it might narrow it down a little.
The only thing i don't like about the Bada is it won't play SACD, so that is the only drawback for me there.
I want to be able to hook up my TT and a CDP. i also know that not all pre's have a phono input so a phono pre may have to be as well, I know the Adcom GFP750 has no phono input.
Maybe i should just put the tubes on the shelf for now till i have a better understanding of it all, with knowing what tube replacements give you a better feel and sound. also in mixing a SS with a Tube or Tube Tube placement. everybody has there own thoughts on this i know, been here long enough to learn that, but a little insight never hurts.
Anyway if you guys could give me some advice here and why, it would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Larry.

Tube pre and ss amp==heaven,IMHO,,I've used a Dodd ELP with adcom 555's in a previous life and I'll take that anyday over the adcom 555 pre that I had with them anyday. Good luck,,post a WTB here,,you never know,,,BTW--there was an ELP on headfi last week for 350ish.JC approves....he told me so. (F-1 nut)

I just got into them in the past year hardcore but I have had a tubed source for some time now and I have to admit that it sure is a pleasure. Any help or understanding that I have needed along the way have all been answered by the fine folks of this forum that have the experience I lack. I have yet to be lead in the wrong direction and my ears are lovin' what they are hearing.
I may go back but from what I've heard in my own rig? Tubes rule. I would suggest taking the plunge and listening to what the tube folks here have to say. They know what they are talking about. Forget about putting them on the shelf. Your ears may just thank you.~ In search of accurate reproduction of music. Real sound is my reference and while perfection may not be attainable? If I chase it, I might just catch excellence. ~ -
Tubes are definitely the way for me. No reason to be worried or concerned about diving in. Ive done the tube/ss combo a bunch of times, and Ill never go back to a ss front end, least not until I hear something I like better haha.
I say go for it and enjoy, you'll never know til you try.

I was in a similar situation as you and started out with getting an entry level tube pre and after a year, I liked it so much that I went a little crazy and all my components are now tubes. AND, every step of the way I got lots of good advice from the guys on this forum.
I second the idea of starting out with a used Dodd. I never had one, but I've read lots of very positive things about it on this forum. Try a search to dig out some of this info.
PS- The Bada is a Killer cdp- I love it! -
Take a look at this pre http://www.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/cls.pl?preatube&1247227430&/Ming-Da-MC-7R-Tube-Preamplifie
All point-to-point wiring, great build and looks great. I've had a Ming Da integrated for the past 4 years and it's superb sounding. If I ever go separates, this will be the pre I get. The only possible negative is the inputs on the side. You pretty much have to have 1m IC's for the closest components and maybe 2m for the farthest. I've only got one source so no big deal for me except that I can't use .5m IC's. Oh yeah, and no remote for you lazy bums2 channel - Willsenton R8 tube integrated, Holo Audio Spring 3 KTE DAC, audio optimized NUC7i5, Windows 10 Pro/JRiver MC29/Fidelizer Plus 8.7 w/LPS and external SSD drive, PS Audio PerfectWave P3 regenerator, KEF R3 speakers, Rythmik F12SE subwoofer, Audioquest Diamond USB cable, Gabriel Gold IC's, Morrow Audio SP5 speaker cables. Computer - Windows 10/JRiver, Schiit Magni 3+/Modi 3+, Fostex PMO.4n monitors, Sennheiser HD600 headphones -
Get your thoughts together man...you want some tubes...you need some tubes...you will love some tubes.
A tubed pre is the best way to introduce that "tube" sound into your system...if you don't find one with a phono section, you can always pick up a dedicated phono stage later on. -
I pity the fool with no tubes..........Mr. T.......I mean RT1.
A tube pre with ss amp is a frequent first step. For you I pick...........Joule..enjoy, ok..Jolida enjoy, ok....Manley...enjoy. maybe......Conrad Johnson......or Dodd.
