OMG!

I realize Brettw22's and others frustrations with the level we've reached at Club Polk. I never thought some of the threads and posts could reach the gutter.. but that time has arrived.

Adding tags to someone's thread is bush... seriously. If that's what gives you a hardon then you got some growing up to do.

I know we're not all going to get along with each other.. or even agree with each other all the time. That's fine. But stooping so low as to add tags to someones thread is just uncalled for.

IF the original poster of that thread wants to add his or her own tags then that's fine.. but no one should be changing them otherwise. IT may seem funny and harmless.. but it could lead to some innocent person getting ticked off or banned for no good reason.

Lets have fun on this forum again.. we don't always have to play nice.. but at least don't tag someone else's thread. Tag your own.

The other thing... about this thread or that thread only being for select people whom it concerns is BS. If you have a problem with someone take it to PM's - private messages.. don't throw it out there and start a name calling war.

*the topic of my thread is BS, and I know most can see it as that.. and I was just poking fun at the other threads started the same way.

Now, to be honest Danger Boy, I wasn't aware that the original poster was the only one who was supposed to add tags to a thread.

Not saying you're not right, but ..... are you sure about that ?

I've only added about half a dozen tags to threads since I've been here, mainly because the "Edit Tags" button never really registered with me until recently (about 6 months ago ?).

Pretty sure none of them have been destructive/cruel/insubordinant/evil; in fact, my latest tag was in the form of a disclaimer : "MBBL NOT TEABAGGERTAGGER" .

Only did that because a phantom tagger was sending tags in from the gutter and didn't want to be associated with that.

BTW: I didn't add the "Cry Me a River" tag to this thread.

UPDATE: or the "Tag This" tag.

As far as I was aware the purpose of the tags was to aid in searching for posts, and that the tags would/should be updated by anyone reading the thread so as to give a varied and useful number of keywords on which to search.

Some of the tags have been out of line since the system was first implemented
    Speakers: Polk LSi15
Pre: Adcom GFP-750 with HT Bypass
    Amp: Pass Labs X-150
    CD/DVD Player: Classe CDP-10
Interconnects: MIT Shortgun S3 Pro XLR
    Speaker cables: MIT MH-750 bi-wire
    TT:Micro Seiki DD-35
    Cartridge:Denon DL-160
    Phono Pre:PS Audio GCPH

Tags could actually be really useful if used correctly. Try clicking on a "regular" tag (not the BS tags) and you'll see all the threads concerning that topic listed. It even works for those three letter searches, such as NAD, that don't work very well with the search feature. It's a pity they've been used just to poke fun ... even if there's nothing wrong with humor in the Clubhouse threads IMO.

With the recent stupid post's from one individual, I think we can all figure out who it is, and needs to be gone as far as i am concerned.

It is more than a recent problem. This has been going on for at least a few months. Although some of the losers we've picked up in the last few months also need to go, along with this clown.

Is there no log that tracks the addition of tags. If not, there should be.

Too bad when we look at the "edit tags" section we can't see who posted what tag. Lack of anonymity has a way of keeping all but the largest douchebag somewhat civil.

If it was being utilized as it was supposed to be tags would be a good thing. Unfortunately, there are immature people on here that have to screw up a good thing. The function should simply be removed.

Hell no! That's how I find half the stuff I look for.........quickly.

If folks can't handle some of the funny, obnoxious, witty and key word tags, then don't read 'em. Simple as that.

I also use it and find it very helpful. It's rarely ever abused.

I sure must be in the dark as every week or so when threads like these pop up I have no idea what they are in reference to.

You're joking, right? The tags? Just in case you're serious, they're displayed right on the bottom of the screen, below the last post in any thread that has them, right above the "Quick Reply" box.

HaHaHa, I never noticed those before. I wouldn't even know how to post one of those, shows you just how much I read in detail. I look at the post, nothing more, if it offensive, childish, immature, or whatever, I just leave it and move on.

I don't know who is posting names in the "Tags" on this thread, but you have crossed the line. I will find out who you are and I will do everything in my power to have you banned.

If they weren't acceptable, why do we use them on the board? You're privacy concerns went out the door when you made friends here....Joe....Jesse....Steve....etc etc. Are we talking last names or what? I don't see anything out of line....that hasn't been in 50 other threads.

EDIT: OK, it was last names, sorry guys....that's cause for concern.
