Help with CD playback on a PS3 w/o having to turn on my FP

The only way I am able to play an audio CD on my PS3 is to turn on the FP. I want to be able to play a CD w/o having to fire up my FP first. Everything is connected via HDMI and I'm running an Onkyo 805. Once the FP is on and can then shut it off and keep playing.
