Gday Everyone, I have just finished wiring up my new Lsi15's, LsiC and four Lsifx's. I havn't run in the auto speaker setup yet using my Onkyo 875(using NAD t973 as power amp) and intend to run the speakers in using a setup cd.
I was wondering if someone could start me off on the right track as far as posioning my front speakers from the front and side wall. I have tried searching but couldn't find alot of info on this, perhaps someone could direct me to any existing posts ? . I did here one guy positioning at least 1m from from the corner and another swapped the speakers around so the side firing base speaker faced towards the middle of the room ? I realize that it may be different for each room but some starting direction would be appreciated.
My room dimensions are 6.3mx4.3m and I have two subs up the front as well, the sub menu says to posion in the front corners toed in so they don't reflect back onto themselves)subs are yamaha sw1500's)
Regards John

If you hunt around on the Polk site, I remember seeing some info on how to position the LSI 15's. It doesn't make much sense to me to position the LSI 15 woofers so they are firing to the middle of the room. You do want to keep them from the sides of the room. A meter or more should be fine. Toe in doesn't have to be much at all. Mine are barely toed in. For those Americans that are metric challenged - a meter is pretty close to a yard.

Thanks HHstuart for your reply, I'll keep on hunting around as well as experimenting with speaker placement. I have found some suggestions on speaker settings so I will try these as well. This is all new to me, all my equipment has only just been purchased so I'm starting with zero experience.
These are some of the suggestions that I will try

Under Speaker Setup -> Speaker Config:
    - All speakers = Should be set to small (crossover point of 80 is a good starting place)
    - DoubleBass = Set this to off.
    - LPF of LFE = 80hz (once again at least start there and then move up or down to taste)
Under Speaker Setup -> THX Audio Setup:
    - THX Subwoofer = You will be fine either way to be honest.
Under Audio Adjust -> Tone Control:
    - All speakers = Impossible to say from here - need a SPL meter (usually from radio shack) to tell what to change each speaker to. It would be VERY surprising if they were all the same though)

2)All speakers cross frequency = 80 hz if you have 2 subs. Only set full band when you do not have sub or your front speakers are full range speakers
3)LPF or LFE start at 80hz then increase every 10 Hz untill you are happy with the bass (this depend on your room, your taste of bass, my case I set at 80 Hz)

I agree with everything McLoki said, except LPF of LFE. Set it to 120Hz so you're letting the full bandwidth of the LFE
channel reach your subwoofers. It won't cause any localization issues because it has nothing to do with redirected bass
    from the other channels.

I'm fairly new to the LSI's also. I only got them in December.
You can try the the crossovers at different settings.
I think the point of setting them at 80 hZ is to
    1) relieve some stress off of your amplifier for the LSI 15's.
They are power hungry and you want to make sure they have sufficient headroom.
    2) Keep the subwoofer in the bottom range. Some are not flat above 80 hz.

I might be blowing smoke but that's my 2 cents.
