Anyone know where I can find a good set of stands for these? I bought a set of Sanus stands and after finding that the holes on one stand was drilled to large for the anchor I returned them. They also were of poor quality, made in China. When I put a speaker on the stand that did assemble it seemed really unsteady. If anyone can point me in the right direction I would be grateful.

Sanus makes good higher end stands. Which did you buy? I have a used pair of Steel Foundations with my LSi9's and they are steady. There are lots of stand options. There are already threads on this forum talking about stands and some of them even dedicated to use with an LSi9:

Sanus Steel foundations series is da bomb. I have two pairs, solid, sturdy, and good looking. They are double poles each.
I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

I just bought a pair of Sanus Ultimate Foundation stands for my Lsi 9's they should be here any day. I got the UF26 models. I am using the Designer Foundation stands for my Lsi 7's which are my surround speakers. I don't think they make the Designer series anymore.

I'm using a pair of Sanus stands I got from Crutchfield. They're sturdy and look awesome.

I have Sanus for my 9's and they are very sturdy even with the grand kids bopping around. One thing i did do is drill a center hole down the middle. So you can not see any wires at all.

I just ordered a pair of Wood Technology FGC-16 - Solid Cherry Hardwood Series 16" Speaker Stands. They look good, the base and the speaker base are larger than the Sanus, they are made of real wood and made in the USA. These points were a factor in purchasing. I will post a follow up on how they worked out once I receive and set them up. They were $89.00. Here is the site. http://www.speakerstandsonline.com/Wood-Technology-FGC-16-WT0072.html#ReviewHeader

I think 16" is going to be too short. You want the tweeters at ear level. My Sanus SF are 30". For $89 I think you could have done better. Amazon has the Sanus SF-30 or NF-30 for about $10 more. This is just my opinion; I am not a stand expert.

Hey Max good point with my sanus stands i got the highest they had.
I would say 30 inches as you have said. They should be ear level. 16 inches may be a bit to low.
I also raised my center with a wall mount. This all makes a big big difference. Also i did not prefer the wood vs steel.

I also had the 30'', and they were just about perfect. 28'' would have worked too. Anything shorter would crowd them, and you'd be off-axis with the tweeter. You'll be fine with the 16'', if you sit on floor and have really long ears.

My setup: Sanus 28" for LSi9 and 30" for LSi7. Since I use 7 for surround, it helps to have it slightly above ear level, and that's why 30" is good, although I tried to have it at that level for main, and it works also.

Either way, I agree with the comments, it should be 28" and up for these speakers to do its best.

I just built some sanus NF 36". Seem ok so far.

Does anybody use that blue tack stuff between the speaker and the stand? Got a energetic dog that is gonna hit that stand and want any protection I can get.

    Thanks

The top plates of these stands seem too small for the LSi9's. How do they attach/sit on such small plates?

I'm planning to post pics soon - not sure how yet - but my buddy used concrete blocks that will have fabric over them. For the LSi9s, he used, i think, about 8 or 10 blocks stacked up 2 across. If you have the room - it works very well and is relatively cheap. We have little ones, so when we came to visit, we didn't want any chance that they would bump into the stand and have a 30lb speaker come crashing down (and also, we wouldn't want anything bad to happen to the 30lb speaker either)
Not my setup - but what I have put together for a friend (i.e. what mine would be if i had the money to invest :D )
    Front: 2 x LSI-9
    Center: LSI-C
    Rear: 4 x M10
    Sub: Elemental Design A2-300
    AVR: Onkyo TX-SR806
    Amp: Acurus 200x3
    BD: HTPC
    Television Programming: Dish ViP722
    Video: Epson 6500UB Front Projector

    Just for some more choices.....

VTI Manufacturing makes some decent stands as does StudioTech I agree that Sanus's higher end stands are really good. I have stands from all 3 manufacturers. Anything that is shot fillable is usually what I'm after.
