I'd say that it probably handles like it's on rails. Someone that's gonna put that motor in that car will likely do the whole thing right. I'd love to see the look in the eyes of some Z06/Ferrari/Viper/insert name here driver when he get's utterly humiliated by that car.

I wanna hear the exhaust note!!!!

Might; JUST might be the only half way cool car built in America between 1973 and whenever modern muscle cars started showing up again/recently. 1974 thru the 80s absolutely sucked for American Cars with cool.

Ok...you guys are gonna have to forgive me. This isn't pre-1980, but it is definitely some muscle car ****.

1987 Chevy Monte Carlo SS. My dad and I have been building this car for about 7 years now...It's still running on the stock rear end and suspension, but once that's done, we'll essentially be done with the car.

Ignore how dirty the engine compartment is in this pic...

Also ignore how dirty the interior is...lol

Well, remember, in the "Malaise Era" the fastest American Made vehicle was this:

    Rhone_79LilRedExpress.jpg
    Picture179.jpg

That's Dodge's Lil' Red Express and in 1978, it was king of the heap from the Big 3.

Then again, in 1976, one could get a Dodge Warlock with any engine from the Leaning Tower of Power, the slant six all the way up to a 400 cubic inch small-block (383 replacement). Lotsa people pulled out the smogger engines and dropped in 440's from earlier years too. This one was cool though, had the same wood bed and such but instead of exhaust stacks and livery all over it, it had pin striping!

This is the 442 in Kajun442. Bought it from the original owner in 1981.
It luckily wasn't home when Katrina came through, can't say the same for my 427/4pd 1966 Caprice.

I would...in a heartbeat! That is a 1971 Dodge Challenger convertible...one of only 2,165 made in 1971. AND if that is an original color (Panther Pink) it is even more rare because it is either a mid-year production vehicle (basically a 1970½ model which means it was one of the earliest produced that year) or a special order color which means it is quite rare on top of the limited production. Panther Pink was not a standard 1971 Challenger color. The stripes are 1971 stripes but that doesn't mean it is the original color.

Al, you might not be caught dead in a car that color...HOWEVER...Panther Pink was a chick magnet. The ladies loved the color.

No way dude, Olds Rocket 88

    49pace.jpg

1949, Olds takes the big V8 from the 98 and drops it into the small, lightweight 76 body and makes what many regard as the formula for the muscle car. The biggest engine available in a mid-sized body.

how bout the Hudson Hornet, from iirc 53? light body biggest available engine. won lots of races, too

i like the big muscle cars...how bout a 68 tornado...with the w30 option? 400 hp and air conditioned comfort. just don't take those turns with too much 'elan'

actually, i'd love a 70-73 datsun 240z...styling that still holds up...give it some chevy v8 power..:)
