No way. I don't believe it. It didn't happen without a pic.~ In search of accurate reproduction of music. Real sound is my reference and while perfection may not be attainable? If I chase it, I might just catch excellence. ~

How about giving the big boats a shot.

I don't want to forget the Mopar and ford fans.

How about a Chrysler 300? Now that is a boat.

Boats? Defintely. Muscle Cars? No Way! Not EVEN the 442. By the time that model 442 came out they were so anemic they were anything BUT a muscle car. This is a 442 Muscle car....
The bigest engine available in a Maverick was a 302 and isn't even considered a "pony" car like the Mustangs, Camaros, Firebirds, Cudas etc... A true Muscle Car better have a BIG BLOCK!
Big Cars that are considered muscle cars...
A SS 454 Monte Carlo
A SS 427 Impala
1969 Coronet Super Bee Hemi
1965 427 "side oiler" Galaxie 500
1962 421 Pontiac "swiss cheese" Catalina
There are quite a few more...but those big lux-boats...even though they have big engines...are not muscle cars.."Just because youre offended doesnt mean youre right." - Ricky Gervais

Sweet GT-40 MK IV or is that a MK II? Taught all those Europeans and GM how to do it at LeMans. Stuff 427 c.i. of highly modified side-oiler in a monocoque(sp?) and let er rip. Did pretty well with the 302s and 289s, too. Never heard of the 255. Pretty reliable too. One year I believe they took the top three spots.

As usual...this thread has deviated from the original "pre 1980's muscle car ****" to high dollar exotics and street rods. Oh well...it IS the Club Polk way."Just because youre offended doesnt mean youre right." - Ricky Gervais

"Consistency requires you to be as ignorant today as you were a year ago." - Bernard Berenson -
I don't know if this first picture actually qualifies for the pre - 1980's as I assembled this replica in 2004. The intent is there but the fine line of pre 80's is stretched.
The second is a Ford 7 litre. This one has the 428 fe. It is a great running car with a little "Go". It's not a super car but it is pre 80's Muscle. Interesting history on the Ford 7 litre and how it came to be. Plenty of web material for anyone interested.

The 7 Litre is the Galaxie with Ford's 428 vs the 427. The 427 was the "high performance" of the two and one could not get the Galaxie with power steering, air conditioning, etc with the 427. Ford recognised that those options might be desireable with the full size Galaxie purchasers so that option was made available starting in 1966...thus the 7 litre. The 428 in that car is very different from the 428 CJ and 428 SCJ that were offered in the Mustangs, Fairlanes and Torinos starting in 1968."Just because youre offended doesnt mean youre right." - Ricky Gervais

I love me some Goat.
Although I am a Rebel.
And how could you not like a Trans Am.
Here is a cyclone we all wouldn't mine seeing in our driveway.
I am not sure why this was adevertised as a muscle machine but here you go.

Had to add this one. Just looks to good to leave out.

I'd love one of these.

The General.
This is just wrong, but I like it.

How could you go wrong with a Pantera.

Here is my 1966 Galaxie 500. Not a muscle car by any stretch of the imagination. It has a 352 4V, C6 auto w/overdrive. It is a lux-cruiser...not a muscle car.
