Many people (including myself) have found the RTi10's to be somewhat on the bright side. I personally find them quite shrill on most receivers I've heard them on. Whereas the A7's I immediatly loved the sound of. Beautiful clear highs that I can listen to all day (or night). The curvacious cabiniets of the A7's are supposed to help disipate standing waves and resonance and therefore "colour" the sound less. I feel it works wonderfully. Side by side in the electronics shop where I bought my A7's my far and above preference was the A7's. The same shop had Energy Reference Connoisseur R70's on demo and the A7's sounded better to me for much less money. I feel it's a step up not sideways. My two cents.

I've never actually compared the two side by side, but I have heard both of them, and they both sound great. The A7 is essentially the same speaker with a different cab. The curved shape of the cab supposedly makes it more acoustically inert, which does make sense, but I can't vouch for it personally.

It'd be worth it to me to upgrade to them just because I like the appearance of the A7's a lot more. I'm not to big of a fan of the silver faces on the RTi's, plus the curved cabinet gives it a much more stylish look in my opinion.

If you can get a great deal I say go for the A7's.
