I use it.

I love how music can brighten up a bad day. -
I've used it for over a year. It's quite awesome! No 411 charges on my cell phone and they automatically connect you.
-
Yeah, I've used it a few times. Pretty neat!George Grand wrote: »

I have used this service for over a year as well. Not 100% accurate but beats paying $1.25 per call for 411 thru my cell phone carrier. Some new landline phones, such as those from GE, has a dedicated button for Google 411.
Google used to have a giant billboard advertising this service as motorists enter San Francisco on the Bay Area. -
I've never heard of it before, but I'll start using it. I like free...

I give it a shot never heard of it before.
Thanks

I was hoping it was some kind of "epic fail" video and that the dude with the pizza was going to take him out!

I never heard of it until now either. Sounds pretty cool to me, I'll be using it!

Nice...thanks for the link!

Wow, this has been around for well over a year now - some of you old folks need to get with the times

Hey, Jay from 1-800-FREE411 here. Just found this thread and wanted to let everyone know that that Google number only has business listings, while 1-800-FREE411 has business, gov't, and residential listings. Plus, we text driving directions to your cell, which is great for those who don't have browsers on their phones -- all for free.
-
Those numbers look to be the same to me...

Don't feed the spammers
1-800-GOOG-411 == 1-800-4664-411
1-800-FREE-411 == 1-800-4733-411If you will it, dude, it is no dream. -
Oops, didn't check that; did you report?

I'm glad my phone has good internet, GPS, and free Google maps - that way I don't have to jack with any of this stuff. I trust Google, but the other service I wouldn't trust not to spam my phone with text messages.
-
Hey guys, I wouldn't call it spam if it's relevant to the conversation, offered respectfully, and written with disclosure.
At any rate, I just wanted to add that we'd never spam a caller with text messages. Here's our FAQ with the details: http://www.free411.com/about/faq
