Ten years with MS and I'm as healthy as before

This month is my 10 year anniversary of being diagnosed with ms. I have many of the common symptoms: numbness and burning in my feet and having to insert a catheter in my "say what" about 10-20 times a day to drain my bladder.
My symptoms do not seem to be getting any worse and that really didn't happen the first 9 years so I consider myself in remission. I haven't needed any iv steroids (solu-medrol) for close to 2 years now. My energy level is good and I'm gaining a little weight.
PM me if you want to know what I did to improve my health and facilitate this long-term remission.
Feel free to post your personal experience with ms or those of your friends, family, co-workers, etc.

No matter what crazy (curse word bleeped out ) things you've said to me in the past and may continue to say, I still respect you as a person. Whether you deserve it is not for me to judge. -
Very happy for you that you are doing so well. Good luck in the future.

Congrats and hope things continue to go well on that front.
Now, if you'd consider seeing a shrink so you could possibly stop being such an a$$hole....No matter what crazy (curse word bleeped out ) things you've said to me in the past and may continue to say, I still respect you as a person. Whether you deserve it is not for me to judge.
Case in point, wtf? You are clearly fishing for compliments here, a guy gives you one and you still have to act like a jagoff.

Have a good day. I know I am -
I wouldn't be surprised if this whole thread was BS for more attention

Carl does have MS. Wether or not it has been 10 years, I can't vouch for.
His mental-well being is questionable, I will agree with that. He seems to have turned into the type of person that drives slow in the fast lane in order to antagonize others. To prove a warped point that somehow he is dealing with daily problems differently (read better) than other people. Even his "Have a nice day. I know I am." with the stupid smiley is posted in order to antagonize people. Unfortunately it works and is allowed to continue. Carl, please see, or continue to see, a qualified theapist.
Sorry for the derail, but I wanted to vouch for Carl on the MS question, and then encourage him to get help with the other. -
I predict an LOL with a "have a nice day" in your future. If you will it, dude, it is no dream.
-
thanks David
its so sad to watch someone cry out for attention
especially on the net......can only imagine the number of AE's he has out there...
more than likely posting to one another
will need to research the effect it has on ones mentals health
it really might not be his fault at all......hhhhhhhhhmmmmmmmmmm
he might not even have a clue
well CL heres to havin a great day....alarm clock went off and I woke up
doesnt get any better than that.......... -

I know. And, an incomplete quote of my post to show everyone that he doesn't care what I (or any other poster) said because what we post is not as important as his reply. -
OK, who put the wambulance tag in there - friggin classic!
-
"If you have MS and feel very sad or have no interest in things around you, you need to seek help."
WOW a direct relationship to a decline in mental health.....hhhhhhhhhhmmmmmm
a little reading bout this really opened my eyes.......
yes the slow driving on purpose in the fast lane......a cry out for attention...
those silly posts...a cry for attention....
poor guy just needs a lil attention........
Well at least his posts make more sense to me now
I will sleep much better at night
heres hoping you have or are seeking help............
have a great day filled with ATTENTION for you
I will do my best to help you with your attention addiction
together we will get the monkey off your back -
Thanks but no thanks.

Good to hear CandyLiquor. My wife was diagnosed about 4 1/2 years ago with the same, She has had one flare-up and has been doing well ever since. She has some slight loss of sensation on her left side, but other than that she is doing well so far.

That's good. Are they giving her any iv steroids (solu-medrol) and copaxone?
Let me know if you want to know what I've done.

This is not a medical advice forum. Surely you don't need to be told again, right?
Quit putting medical advice out there moron........comment comment comment comment. bitchy. -
Couple of true friends have this and I do not wish it on anyone. The good thing for my friends, is it was gradual and the were able to adapt to new limitations. Sorry to here about you condition.
Take care,

She has Not started Steroids yet. We planned on having more kids, so she decided to wait. We have had our 3rd and final child, and she is planning on starting treatment after our little one is done breast feeding. Nice thing for women is, as long as they are pregnant MS subsides, some thing about the hormones in their bodies. She also stays active which helps a lot. One of my friends also has MS, years ago she started low impact aerobics, and it has helped her a lot.
Later,
dude -
Glad you have been holding steady Candy.
And Dude, I hope your wife continues to have good health and congrats on child # 3. -

thanks. I would rather have ms than many other things like als, or lupus, or even asthma. -
Asthma!
Yeah, I'd much rather have a degenerative brain disease than an easily treatable and common respiratory problem. If you will it, dude, it is no dream. -

While I might agree with the ALS and Lupus, to say you'd rather have MS than asthma is ....... not very well informed.Sal Palooza
