New Sound Blaster Audigy EX sound cards

I purchased four of these a long time ago when Creative was getting rid of them and never got around to selling them. In fact, billbillw's thread selling one of these reminded me that I still had them unopened in my basement! They say "Latin America Edition" on the front of them in a small red box but the rest is identical to the "US" version, as is the contents. Pay no attention to that red box :p

Absolute killer sound card with an outboard Audigy drive as well as a remote control.

Here's an in-depth review for your reading pleasure:

Looking for $70 shipped, each. I accept Paypal, money orders and personal checks. Money orders and personal checks must clear before shipment.

Thanks for looking.

I had a question whether or not these are the Platinum version and yes, they are.

Also, I'm dropping the price to $65, shipped.

I was looking for something that I could use to convert my music collection of LPs, Tapes and Minidisc to wave or MP3. I would like to import the minidiscs without converting them to analog first. Do you think that will be possible using the digital inputs on this device? Would I need any additional software?

I can't understand why nobody is jumping on these.

I sold my used one last week for $45+shipping (which added more than $10 to the price) and it sold almost immediately. There were also a few guys that seemed disappointed that they didn't get a crack at it.
    Maybe you need some pictures?

    I hear ya!

pmlewis, I have no idea if it will work but I'm kind of thinking that it won't. I could be wrong. I'd do some research for you but I'm bombarded at work now and my work at home isn't much better.

Actually, there is no reason why it wouldn't work like this. Minidisc should output in standard SPIDF digital, which the Platinum Ex can receive through its SPDIF IN jack. The key is learning how to use the software to record. I use Wavelab to record, but you can also use Sound Forge, Vegas, Cubase, Cakewalk, etc. A little trial and error should get you through it.

Will this card work or are drivers available for Windows XP 32 and/or 64 bit versions?

Creative has very mature driver support for all versions of Windows and Vista, including 64bit. I used mine with XP 64bit for well over a year with no problems.

This was cutting edge about 7-8 years ago.

Its not the latest. I am putting together a new basic system for my brother. He needs high quality audio but more importantly he needs the Midi interface as well.

For the latest, in this style with the Midi (if you needed it) you'd have to spend much more. As with everything-depends on your needs

If I were putting together a super HTPC, I would get something more recent, but for my brother's needs-this will fit the bill much better than anything currently on the market for $60 (IMHO and as far as I looked).
