A: You don't LOOK 40:D I thought you were in your late 20's/ early 30's
B: Vent more HERE! You don't have to be the positive , upbeat, anchor of the forum. Not that I/we don't appreciate it, but...
C: I'm sorry I don't know how to embed a video, so all I can do is link.

Thanks. In fairness that pic was taken in 2004 but people do tell me I look like I am 33 or so. I don't know with all this stress it may catch up to me.

Hang in there Darla, it WILL get better! You at least have some control in what is happening & can make moves to change the outcome which you are doing. Just give it time & you see it work & change for the better.

I am going into the 2nd year of having a relatively peaceful quiet time in mine & my brother lives. We didn't have that for well over 10yrs before the beginning of 2007!

But in order to get there we had to lose our Aunt, our Mom, our older brother, & I lost both of my cats the same year as Mom.

We are now the eldest generation and it starts all over again. But right now things are good, Mark is looking at buying a house, I'm looking at buying a condo, We happy, healthy and looking forward to seeing each other in June, Oct (for Polk Fest!) & for Thanksgiving!

You already noted all the good things you have going on in your life, just keep plugging away at continuing to make it better & you will get there! I would love to meet you at PF, but I do understand that funds are extremely tight.

When bad stuff happens and the things we THOUGHT were what we wanted go away...it is merely an opportunity to do new things, get better/new/different stuff and find someone better to hang with.

It is a basic tenet in business and life: Problems=opportunities

Darla with all my heart I tell you this.

    It WILL get better.

Three times in my life I lost EVERYTHING in my life. The last time I was 47 years old with a $150K job that I just lost, a beauty of a home in Cherry hill New Jesey plus just like your situation now heartbroken.

But there was more, I found myself when I woke up one day at 47 years old, a homeless, drunkard trying to get someone in my family (who were sick of my **** all those years) to take me in and help me out.

Long story short. less than five years later, I am married to the love of my life, in a beautiful home with two great sons and a 2ch rig that would make some people cream their jeans. Remember 5 years ago not a penny to my name and hearbroken . .. now look at me and I am not as smart as you. Plus you have job security.

Someone said this already.....'life always get better'. I had some horrendous periods in my life and it's all been worth it for where and what I've ended up with. At 55, I would not swap this age for any other time in my life......unless is was a temporary swap that is.....for like an hour or so here and there maybe? :D

    Darla,

1)your age means squat. you still look great anyway, so whats the difference?

    2) you HAVE to execute a definitive plan with the house, whatever it is. forclose, bankruptcy and start over? keep treading water? I couldnt begin to rule out any plans given how much the housing market in Florida is getting its **** tarred right now. If you can keep your head above water though, do it. a loss isnt a loss till you sell the house.

if you know you can't long term, 4 th and 10 baby....PUNT! cut loose and take the gargantuan hit, sooner you take tyhe hit, the sooner you can focus getting out of the hole. Nothing wrong with renting for a while.

    3) and this is huge here, DUMP THE SYCOPHANT. I know I'm being blunt here, but people that love eachother dont hurt eachother near as much as this loon is cutting your fu*king heart out like its a hobby.

your at a point where BIG choices must be made to improve things. every tick of the clock you wait things out is a wasted part of your life. change ****, NOW!!!

And as for that house that's driving you nuts .......... why not let it go into foreclosure? If your ex can't keep it out of foreclosure, then as soon as the bank takes action it's negotiation time. I just helped negotiate a property that was jointly owned and going into foreclosure. The one owner couldn't do anything to save it, so we worked the bank as the white nights to take over the existing balance of the loan, and the bank agreed to quit claim deed it into their name, then into the single owners name, and also agreed not to send the foreclosure transaction to the credit bureau for the owner who bailed it out of foreclosure. Not sure what the laws are in FL, but you might check with an attorney and see if foreclosure is the saving grace.

    Hang in there!

    Wingnuts,
Spend more time w/friends and keep an open mind as far as dating. Try not compare the new dates to her. Everyone is different. You're trying to find a new partner, not a replacement for her. Also school works will keep your mind off her. Since you don't enjoy LE, concentrate on the education. LE never pays enough, use it as a mean to a law degree. It is a ticket to a brighter career.

Hang in there Darla! Many, many folks here and everywhere been through the same stuff. Rejected, neglected, broke and brokenhearted. It is never easy, stay positive, look for the little things to help you enjoy life and appreciate what you have. Money is just money. You don't need it to be happy. Stay strong, you'll get to a better place!
