SDA 1C's

Any one have an idea of a simple method to find an apparent air leak in
an SDA 1C. When I push the PR inward, the drivers do move outward but
retract rather quickly. I'm not sure how tight they should be but my other
speakers seem to hold pressure much longer. I have tried holding a candle
close to suspect areas but too risky I decided. Hoping someone has an idea.
Note that I have inspected the gaskets and they look good. Thanks.

get some warm water and mix it with a little dish soap.. and rub some around the passive.. and try the test again. if it bubbles up.. then you'll be able to find the air leak.

other than that if you don't find any leaks.. then tighten down the screws on all the drivers. and the passive. check the cabinent for split seams

the old drivers will not stay out for very long.. because the rubber over time relaxes and becomes softer.. they will in most cases retrack within a second or two. on one of my 2B's I have one new driver and one old driver.. the new driver stays out longer than the older one.

A candle would scare me too, what about an incense? In a still room the smoke should be a straight line up until you find the leak.

I think you have a leak as well. Mine (all original) stay out for as long as I hold the PR in.

I agree. When I find the leak I'll post my findings.
