Why not help elsewhere in this forum and leave well alone? Is there really a need for the rhetoric? This is just lame to read from week to week. It reflects poorly on the forum and membership. Some of you folks are standard bearers for Polk Audio at large and that means alot.

I'm not one who has ever tried to use my 'stature', for lack of a better term, for leverage to get my way. Nor am I one to moan about how things were in the good old days.....but for me, this sort of crap is one reason that my posting here has decreased dramatically. I'm tired of wading through f**king spam and worthless threads. For example, if you want to talk about cars, COOL. F**k me though, I can read the craiglist ads on my own. Want to talk about what you look for online? Cool, but to just say audiogon/ebay: I ain't saying? C'mon, that's horseshit. I'd rather have a couple of good threads going that I can take time and read than 20 that range from personally invasive to completely inane. Does THAT reflect well on Polk Audio?? You know, a lot of people come and go but I think if you polled some that have been around for awhile and ask what the #1 reasont that we don't participate as much as we did it boils down to the fact that the THD is astronomically high...and if we **** about it, we are the ones that are handed the crayons. Again, it's not that anyone deserves special attention but if there is grumbling in the rank and file, perhaps there is a substantive reason. I, for one, feel that those concerns are not being heard and that our goodwill is largely taken for granted. Me, I'm done with it. Let Carl run PF, help out the newbies, give people free gear etc etc. Let me know how that all works out.

As far as SPAM goes, you folks deal with NOTHING. You may get a "reported" post in from time to time but you do NOTHING. That reported post is meaningless. We get rid of SPAM in a record pace on this forum...maybe not as fast as others but give me a break. The post/threads disappear and we're all the better for it in the end. Let me know how troubled and forlorn you are about SPAM....are you kidding me?

In regards to worthless threads, isn't that about perspective? Is Candy liable for most of them, as a group congress? Yes. But is it really that interesting to talk about, in every thread, in every post, by the same group of people....day after day after day. The threads COULD simply roll into the next day but the responses renew it into garage band freshness all the time.

Guy's I think it's time to close the "missle silo doors" and take the finger off the "launch" button for a moment. I found this place a few years ago and have stayed because of the information and help that is here.It just does not look good to see senior members of the forum in a open disagreement. Take it to pm's,please. However,it appears to me that there is much more usless and incorrect information that is being "spewed" as of late.I guess that I'm trying to say,if you don't have anything useful to contribute,then walk away and come back later,when you do,,, we have alot of newbees that are wanting to get there groove on,and it's very dishearting to see someone post bad/questionable advice.As Mark said,,it's counterproductive,,so, we need to move on and let those issues die. Hell,, I thought I was going to have something "profound" to say,I guess not.

I'm gonna hafta say here that Troy is right, this monkey is passive/aggressive and has an attention issue. But Mark is also right in that the endless pages of griping about this guy's inane posts is not necessary. I'm guilty of it too so I'm not throwing stones or anything.

But then again, Troy is right too. This guy has been doing this for months now and it started in response to threads where rskarvan was perpetrating his antics. Many people, both new and old, have expressed frustration with these threads because they bring no value to the forum and are distracting. It is understood that there are other places that "need attention" like the tech forums and such. 'Cause, well, that is what made this site what it is, the help that can be found there. But when guys like cl35m post inaccurate information there on top of the inane tripe in the general discussion forums, IMO, that is a bigger disservice than any disparaging remarks made in his inane threads.

Now I'm all for polls and open discussion. Those kinds of threads support group cohesion and build that "Family" mentality that runs rampant here. But when the threads start getting in to personal information like shopping habits, personals ads use, income levels, I'm wondering if cl35m should start changing his name to Alexa 'cause he behaves just like spyware. It's intrusive and what is even more astounding is that people ACTUALLY RESPOND WITH INFO ON PERSONAL HABITS! What's wrong with you people? Everybody screams privacy this, privacy that and then comes on a PUBLIC forum and posts the info they want to keep safe anyway! WTF dudes and dudettes, WTF.

What this boils down to is that while this guy's threads are harmless and benign for the most part, the are way out in left field, have nothing to do with the forums for the most part and smack of a hidden agenda. It's obvious that he has an intent to stir the pot and with the off-the-wall thread topics he chooses, the good behind his intentions is dubious at best.

We all have people here we can't stand but when the entire forum is discussing putting one tool on ignore, there is an issue that is not being addressed. I don't think banning is in order but the dude needs to change behavior 'cause it was old a long time ago. Everyone also needs to cool their jets, like Mark said, grown men...and women. Lets act our ages not our shoe sizes.
