I hope this link shows up:

Just curious as to what thoughts others may have on these. Apparently the original owner cut the domes off the tweeters. I have never heard of anyone doing this and I'm sure that the folks at Polk would have recommended against it.

Personally, I think the price is way too high for these. The overall shape and the altered tweeters is a real let-down.

I've been looking for a nice pair of this particular model and had my hopes dashed when I saw what had been done to these.

First thing, they are 2.3's not SRS 2's.

Second, they will need six new tweeter's, wether the new replacements from Polk or used sl's from someone, they will still need em.

And third well, if someone had the gumption to actually sit there with a sharp instrument and seperate the protective outer dome from the tweeters, there is no telling what other types of operation's that person may have tryed. Personally, I would keep looking.

If you're looking for some, post the area you are in and CP may be able to help you land a pair.

Too high for 2.3's,I would be surprised if they sold for that price.

They removed the "clear plastic covers"???? You've got to be kidding me. Too bad they did that as you can't even sell the SL2000's to recoup the expense of buying new RD0's if one was so inclined. Wow....

Sorry, I meant SDA SRS and then, of course, I left out the 2.3. Oh, well, again, sorry.

These are trashed speakers and I especially agree with the following:

"....And third well, if someone had the gumption to actually sit there with a sharp instrument and seperate the protective outer dome from the tweeters, there is no telling what other types of operation's that person may have tryed. Personally, I would keep looking....."

I had called Polk some time before and found out the replacement tweeters are actually available for $60.00 each. So that is $360.00 plus shipping and again, who knows what else was done.

I'm not one for modifications of any kind unless the factory sends out a letter stating that it should be done, etc. I'm a big fan of "stock" and these speakers are anything but.

I'll still look for these very speakers. I have three other SDA's now and can wait for the right pair of 2.3's to come along. I may post a request to locate these soon. I'm also a great believer in local pickups for these speakers. I have heard too many horror stories of damage in transit.

Just as an update, the seller has three offers so far. I hope they are under 100.00. At any rate, the seller appears to be very adamant about keeping as close to the buy-it-now price as he can.
