I have had my 37'' Panny plasma since march but recently it started to display the dreaded "purple snake"colour banding problem that they are known to sometimes have. With the Super Bowl and Daytona 500 coming up I dreaded the the thought of having to take the set to a repair depot and have it sit for weeks waiting for parts.
I emailed Panasonic service yesterday and detailed the problem, and today received a most welcome reply.Panasonic will be sending a new circuit board to a service company on monday, then they will do the replacement in home next week.To my mind this is aweome CS .

Great deal GV#27. It's good to hear that a company is taking care of its customers. I hope the in-home repair goes well also.

I had a 40" LCD TV from Samsung that blew up one day out of warranty. Samsung agreed to fix it. Ultimately they replaced it with a newer model at no charge. My only complaint is they wouldn't allow me to buy an extended warranty, but I still got a new TV. Luckily, I was able to purchase a third party warranty for five years.

Fantastic. I hope for the best and that this is all. May you watch the events in good standing and with a good picture! ;)

Great news...let us know how the in home service works out...if its a Panny rep or contracted out...if they request you have it disconnected on a clear working space...If they are ESD aware...etc.
