I would like to buy one of those digital guages that allow you to properly set the weight in grams for your tone arm.. anyone know of one i should try out? I manually was checking my tone arm weight.. and it was hella heavy. i must have increased the weight over the past few month's.
now i want to get the correct weight and make it as easy as possible. i have seen online that there are battery operated guages where the tonearm sit on it.. and it measures the weight.
let me know if any one uses one of these.. I just got a nice Audio Technica series V cart and stylus.. and i want to use it correctly on my Technics SL-M1 table
ciao!

The old-as-Russman (i.e., old as dirt) product made by Shure is inexpensive, accurate, and precise. Shure SFG-2, http://www.musicdirect.com/product/74340
Otherwise, if you have a friend who sells drugs, you could ask to borrow his electronic balance :-) -
They are sold at acoustic sounds and musicdirect but I've heard you can find cheaper on Agon.
madmaxVinyl, the final frontier...
Avantgarde horns, 300b tubes, thats the kinda crap I want...

2nd on the Shure. Joe threw one in when I bought my table from him and was easy as pie to set up. -
That Shure is a great standby and you can find them for as little as $15 on the internet. However I've found that the digital guages are much, much more accurate. Sorasound, (Mehran) sells them very cheap and if you find someone who wants to go in with you Mehran usually gives you the second one at half price.
