65. for a fat **** like me it aint bad. I do the martial arts classes 2-3X a week for fun and excersize (and on certain days, it is a workout from hell) but other than that, i dont run or bike or anything.
after I eat it jumps up to about 80 and change at times, but i think thats kinda normal.
b/p has been running a little high....around 130/90. Doc keeps telling me to back off the salt but I'm having a hard time doing that. if the bp gets worse, that will certainly put a bigger foot in my @ssLiving Room 2 Channel -

Took it again today minus a large cup of Starbucks and music blasting, 66.

I was nervous yesterday....about to get the biggest needles you have ever seen a doc lift from the table and mine was 67 then with a BP of 157/87...when my normal BP is more like 120/70.
After the procedure ( Which is done wide awake with NO pain killer...they WANT you to feel the pain so they know which disc is the pain generator...sick medieval bastages ) my BP was 110/40 but she didnt take my pulse rate then ...that was after some nice demerol after the procedure So it wouldnt have counted anyways...I will check what the rest rate is later tonight....The first rule of Fight Club is you don't talk about Fight Club -
shadow,
sounds like you had a disc-o-gram - documented by medical professionals as the most painful "diagnostic" procedure. Had one before my surgery and that was 1,000 times worse than spinal fusion.

This was my second one  At least the first time I didnt know what to expect...this time I did. At least this time we knew going in to use 5 inch needles...I am pretty muscular and the first time they used 3 1/2" needles only to realize after getting them all in...they werent long enough to reach.
Hey , at least now they know exactly what to do during the surgery...be interesting to see my rest pulse rate tonight...I had never had a BP that high either...guess you could say I was a weeee bit tenseThe first rule of Fight Club is you don't talk about Fight Club -

Hahaha. You ate ice cream. How nice!
I actually did get on the stationary bike today after getting on the treadmill the last few times I've actually gotten motivated to do something. Holy cow, my quads were sore in just a matter of a few minutes! I'm going to have to use the bike more often, now.
But I am determined to get in better shape. I want to get on the bike as often as I can, do pushups and situps at least when I get up and before I go to bed, and I've started playing badminton every Friday night again.George Grand wrote: »

Most excellent. Push ups are a Beeyotch. I hate them. When I was in the academy I could do 100 (real ones - no sissy ones). I have no idea now as I just use the bench press machine at the gym....I don't want to find out either.:DSharp Elite 70

48-58 bpm. I'm 44 and in decent shape. I lift weights but do very little cardio. I've always had a low heart rate so I have to think genetics has a lot to do with it. I'm not in that great of shape cardio wise (hate running).
-
I had no pulse today, I turned it off.

64. Not bad considering the exercise I get is sitting in meetings at work and watching movies (and club polk) at home.
If I got my fat **** out of a chair every once in a while I bet I could break into the 50's. 40's just aint gonna happen for me though....
Michael
Well finally got tired of being fat and joined a gym last July. Now 40# later (and after realising that I hate to lift alone so I do almost all cardio) I can say I was wrong about my comment above.
My resting heart rate (when sitting in meetings at work with nothing else to do) is now 44.
so, how are you all doing compared to when you last posted?
Michael
BTW - it was 44 as taken with a heart rate monitor I got for Christmas. (works with or without a chest strap)Mains.............Polk LSi15 (Cherry)

Just checked mine sitting here at the computer, and it's 64. Haven't really done a whole lot fitness wise on a regular basis since my last post. However, this is the second week I've been hitting the gym really hard with two friends, and I've already paid for a semester-long membership, so it's real this time. Amazing how going with someone (who actually knows what they're doing, haha) helps.
We also went on a ~5 mile jog last night.George Grand wrote: »

Mine is now mid 60's if I stop and rest for 5 or 5 breaths. Mid 50's right out of my sleep pre-coffee and other stimuli. Thats a 20+ bpm improvement since having lost 35 lbs.
What's the highest BPM you have ever recorded?
Mine was 188 doing intense intervals on the stair master gauntlet and 190 in a spin class. I think both were over my 100% Heart Rate Max, which begs the question do they understand the word 'MAX'?Polk Audio RTA 12c's, Monitor 7c, Monitor 5JR+, SDA CRS+
