One reason I am not into cycling anymore is because of the car factor. Miami is the worst.

Riding in urban traffic (30-35 mph) is such a rush for me - keeping up with and passing cars is a hell of a lot more fun than going to the movies or something lame!

However, the worst is heavy high speed traffic (45-55 mph), because you have no chance of keeping up with them and you're being passed constantly (I'd imagine this describes Miami pretty well?). Keeping up with traffic is actually safer than riding slower than it - less chance of being rear-ended or sideswiped by some stupid cager.

On flat and level ground w/ no wind I can sustain a 30+ mph sprint for something over a block. Over 25 mi I can average a little over 19 mph on a warm day - I'm slower now from not riding :( Hmm... reading this back it sounds like bragging. Well, maybe it is a little :)

    85. Once I start cycling and running: 75 after a week, 55 after a few months.

Obviously, I'm currently out of shape.

90 bpm caffeinated. 80 bmp after 3 days coffee detox. Fuel: I need 3000 calories a day to break even, 4000 to gain slowly, 4500 to gain 20lbs in 6-7 months. I always heard that it would catch up with me, and at 37, I'm still waiting. It's time consuming and expensive to eat enough to keep the weight on. I read food labels not for nutrition, but to make sure it has enough calories to make it worth eating. Isn't that F'd up.

    I have no idea.

All I know is that I have a history of heart disease and high blood pressure in my family. So it is in my best interests to stay in shape. So I do. Having a metabolism similar to George's doesn't hurt either. Then again, the only time I'm really resting is when I'm sleeping. Otherwise I'm going non-stop all day long until I crash around 1-2 am. Then I wake up about 6-7 am and do it all over again.

Well, I estimated mine at 57, but then I used Dad's blood pressure taker thingamabob, whatchamacallit, dohickey, contraption to see what it really is.

My blood pressure was 134 over 78, with heart rate at 63.

I thought that wasn't too bad, as I know I'm out of shape (working on that!!....starting...tomorrow....:D). Then Dad took his. He's 66 (or 67? I don't remember...). His was 120 over 80, with a heart rate of 66.

Low 50's here and both readings on my BP will drop below triple digits which is kind of funny with my family history of cholesterol and my asthma drugs..

I sleep when I'm tired and I stop sleeping when i'm not. I rarely get more than 5 hours of sleep a night. I don't care if it's healthy or not. If I sleep more than 5 or 6 hours I feel like crap all day.

My heartrate is usually about 75; was going to check my BP, but the batteries are dead in the Walgreens BP checker.

BP's usually something like 130/70, in that area.

I'm hung like a walrus, btw; I don't know what effect that has on BP.

HR is in the mid 60's, a year ago it was in the upper 80's. Last year I started working out about 5 days a week, lifting, cardio, and yoga. At 36 it was pretty hard but I managed to loose about 25lbs and have put on a bit of muscle. The challenge now at 37 will be to loose another 25lbs this year. I figure I need to continue the workouts and eliminate after dinner snacking! Odd thing was that I've always had borderline high BP (150/90) but the working out and weight loss did not affect the BP very much so last month I upped the cardio and reduced my BP to 132/80! Also got a new Polar Heart Rate monitor to track progress, every bit of motivation helps.
