48's pretty impressive. I'm not sure what mine is, I'm kind of afraid to know.

I remember watching something about Lance Armstrong once, he has a resting heart rate in the low 30's. Pretty sure I'd be dead.
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

It's from running. It's actually a bit high right now. I guess cuz I am sick (for the first time in a looong time). It's usually in the 42-46 range. An when I am really really lean and fit I can get it in the high 30's but that's just craziness.:p

in the low 60s, but I'm nowhere near resting right now - just got back from a short bike ride. I've heard your resting pulse rate really has to be taken right after you wake up and before you move in the morning.

That's a good rate after a bike ride!
That is true to be the most accurate. I will see if I can remember in the morning. I ran today too (I know not smart since I am sick).

    64. Not bad considering the exercise I get is sitting in meetings at work and watching movies (and club polk) at home.

If I got my fat **** out of a chair every once in a while I bet I could break into the 50's. 40's just aint gonna happen for me though....

That is good. You don't work out at all?

Walk to meetings and sit around alot. Doing some light home improvement work now (trying to finish a basement) but that is about it.

My parents were nice to me in the gene department though and I can stay pretty fit with minimal effort. (The fact I am way overweight now is a testament to how little effort I am putting forth to change things though) Just joined a "biggest losers" contest at work so we will see if the pounds still drop off easily for me in the coming weeks.... :)

I am sure the fact I am not a type "A" personality helps as well.

I am a Type "A" personality so mine is WAY TOO HIGH and I'll be lucky to make it out of my 50s! It's a harsh reality.

~ 45 to 48 at this time from competitive Triathlon racing five years ago. Sidelined these past five years as I was hit by a car while on a training ride. Still deciding if I want to restart racing once again now that I am finally able.
All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed, second it is violently opposed and third, it is accepted as self evident.
