RTi's vs Monitor???
Howdy,
Newby to POLK here. Its time to get new speakers and I have noticed some good deals on the Monitor series and the RTi's so here are a few questions.
On a speaker budget of $5-700/pair which is the way to go?
This will be fore a 2 channel system music for the home. Maybe someday upgrade to full HT. I havent personally heard the POLKS but the RTi8 and monitor 60 intrigue me.
any advise or feedback???
Thanks
Hoz

Im sorry if this has been asked before, I may have missed it.
Ihave been scanning forums to try to make the best purchase for my budget -
The RTi8s right now are cheaper and much better than the m60s. Both are in your budget, don't hesitate.

HOZ first off, welcome to Club Polk. Do you not have a representing dealer anywhere around you that you can get a listen on for yourself? Only reason I ask, is one man's whiskey is another man's poison. In other words, what some like may turn out to be what you don't. This will help us to help you, please answer the following questions;
What are your tastes in music? [Classical, rock, Jazz, etc...]
How big of a listening room do you have?
What will be running [amplifying] whatever speaker you choose to get?
How loud do you normally listen to your music?
Thanks.~ In search of accurate reproduction of music. Real sound is my reference and while perfection may not be attainable? If I chase it, I might just catch excellence. ~ -

Hey,
The closest store that carrys polk is about 150 miles away, I was thinking about crutchfield's 30 day deal. As far as my set up, my music choices are classic rock and country with a bit of jazz and classical mixed in so its a wide spectrum.
My listening room is approx 16 x 20 with a 12ft vaulted ceiling.
My music isnt normally played very loud except for when the wife isnt home,
and my amp/receiver is Technics that I purchased in the late 80's that I also plan to update when $ allows.
one more question, will my old technics receiver perform well enough with todays new speakers??
