Pricing is similar to Cancun, just outside of the hotel zone. Nice grab. I think you'll do well. Good luck.

I just got updated photos, and info that Phase 1 has started deliveries. Our condo is on Phase 2 (second tower), and we should have it by the end of August.

I'm sure even the hardcore polkies would not stay inside all day to listen to music. Who's going to bring in the hardware anyways? :)

Once I get settled in, I most likely can arrange multiple condos for a "Polkfest" down there. I doubt there's that much interest but if there is, I can sure make the arrangements and plan activities.

ND13, I think some people just aren't familiar with whats outside of their countries borders and everything they don't know about is sooooo scary. In all honesty I don't think I would have ever bought the place if this wasn't my wife's hometown. (her dad is some sort of police chief of the bay area so I'm sure we could blast some SDA's on full power if someone brought them over :D)

Yes, vacation home. Primary function right now is renting as I only get 4 weeks a year. I'm working on rent structure, and I will give CP discount of course to anyone here that is interested. Send me e-mail or PM if you're seriously interested and we'll be able to work something out. It has room for 6 people, two bedrooms with queen size beds and one sleeping sofa in the living area. Property management has set a 8 people limit for our unit size so the pool area will not get too crowded (you won't be able to invite more than 8 to the property area, including yourself).

We still need to get curtains in place and AC units. AC right now is not 100% necessary, we stayed there for 6 nights w/o it and everything was fine (pool at day time, nights are cool). Curtains will be in place shortly but AC is going to take some time. If anyone wants to rent it w/o AC functioning, the price will be an absolute bargain for the location.

E-mail me @ acqua.258@gmail.com for further info, dates and pricing.

Unfortunately I don't have the bank account to retire just yet (I'm in my late 30's) but if I find a business opportunity over there I might make it a permanent residence. Right now it is a vacation place plus an investment shared by me and my wife's boss. If all goes well with this one I might try to get a couple more, either Nuevo Vallarta or Puerto Vallarta.

I do need to find a telecommute job so I can make it a permanent residence... :D

Yes, the finalisation is since it was bought pre-construction. We already have possession of the condo and it can be fully used while we wait for the paperwork. The developer can't have titles for the condos until every single sold unit has been delivered. Every non-sold has to be completely finished as well.

Mexico has many beautiful places. As someone who has worked in Mexico City, Vera Cruz, Acapulco and Tijuana, I know this first-hand.

I also know the many problems Mexico is having with security. When I was working there, the company (a now-defunct multi-national software company) put me through a security training program that really opened my eyes. Its easy to let your guard down between margaritas and senoritas.

As a result of this training, I'll not be traveling to Mexico for business or pleasure any time soon, or maybe ever again. Sad :(, but true. I'll especially miss the senoritas, but living in Los Angeles is sort of like living in Mexico with a slightly better police/security presence with lots of hot Mexican women and Beaches.

Enjoy the property, but do the due-diligence on the security climate as well as the weather.

Trust me, Puerto Vallarta is nothing like Mexico City or Tijuana. Very safe, especially since my wife is a local. Definitely safer than many, many places in L.A.

Weather is perfect, although a bit too hot at times. It's on a bay surrounded by mountains so no big worries about natural disasters either. When the other tourist cities in Mexico got destroyed, Puerto Vallarta stayed intact, it has not gone through major restructure.
