MoFi's Allman Bros. Idlewild South

MoFi just released this classic recording on a gold disc with an LP type jacket. I got my copy today. As disappointed as I was that they didn't release it on SACD, I'm equally pleased with the outcome. Comparing the MoFi to the regular redbook copy revealed a truely night and day difference. There is more depth, detail, decay and punch. Instead of sounding flat and lifeless, this recording is more 3D, affording a look inside the recording. In fact, at the very beginning of the first song, there is a voice coming from the right channel that just isn't there on the regular redbook. Overall, a stellar effort and well worth the money.
MoFi is releasing Little Feat's self titled disc later this month, I can't wait.
