It's been fun but also frustrating shopping, finding, getting, receiving, waiting for the FedEx guy, getting bit by bit over a period of weeks. Finally today I got the last of my cables and the VR-1s. But no, I couldn't just hook everything up and get going... I had to adjust the bias on the Wave-20s. Fun fun. I'm stoked. :)

It's an interesting mash up and a good start for me. When I said I was getting back into the hobby, I meant it. So I'll be cycling through some stuff here and there and probably start being a heck of a lot more opinionated... so watch out! har har.

Anyway, here is my first dedicated 2 channel rig. I'll post as things change, and also post here first when any of this stuff ends up on the chopping block.

Thanks to the guys here who helped me along with this. Specifically George Daniel, candyliquor35m, George Grand, and Russman.

So, how does it sound? Pretty darn good so far. I definitely need some acoustic panels, curtains, and rugs in the room. Overall it's all a bit forward and a little bright and fatiguing, but I'm going to give everything some time to settle. It is also very sweet, broad, and detailed. Maybe I'm just used to the sound of Rotel and the LSi line. I have some Contour S1.4 and some other gear on the way, so I should be able to find out what exactly is scratching at my eardrums and squash it. Maybe everything just needs to break in.....

I've read all over the forums about the equipment here. Anyone out there with the ASL waves, sunfire, Music Hall, or VR-1 please let me know what you think and how things have settled in with your system and what you think is a good match. I'm looking forward to trying out some different things.

    Very nice.

Try moving your speakers forward a foot or two. Play with toe-in.

Give me some time with them! I just got 'em today. So far I can tell that they are one of the most detailed and dynamic speakers that I've ever heard. Ask again in a few weeks when I've compared them to some Dynaudio and Totems. ;)

Oh, I'd say if you can get some... get some. The VR-1 is discontinued, and is definately a keeper.

Tube rolling can have a major impact. I was skeptical at first and didn't try it for a long time but I've had good results. I think I see some albums standing there.
