if someone could help me out that would be great. I had my current ht set up for 9 years and since I just purchased a 40 inch lcd. This is causing a huge snowball effect. As such, I am attempting to upgrade my whole system. I currently have 2 fornt polk RT600's and polk center speaker. I am getting a new receiver either the onkyo 805 or denon 2808-3808 and an upscaling dvd player. So I am thinking of getting all new speakers or just 2 new rears. any thoughts?

The 600s are nice and clean but kind of thin on bass, especially for HT which is what I'm guessing you are more into. However, because you already have a good front soundstage set up, I would invest in a sub and surrounds at this point. Even if you got all new speakers you'd probably want a sub anyway, so you might as well save some dough and just build on what you have. My .02.

A good subwoofer is key to great HT. I use my RT600's for rears in a 7.1 setup. I just got the Onkyo 805 and it ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!
