Your neighbor comes back from the local Tweeter store that's going out of business with a pair of new speakers and you pop in a song that you know well and it sounds better than your speakers. I've always liked the tri-lams, but newer technology just puts these tweeters to shame. The neighbor purchased a pair of Focal 828's with an aluminum/magnesium inverted dome tweeter with response up to 28KHZ. A very smooth sounding tweeter.

I've listened to the Focal's at Tweeter several times, and I have tried to like them. There's something about them that to me hasn't sounded right. Unfortunately Tweeter never has any good source equipment, so I'm not sure I have been giving them a fair shake!DKG999

They're definitely lacking on the low end. They bottom out around 40-45hz. The neighbor's running Denon's old flagship, the 5800. So he's got ample power to run the speakers. I tried to turn them up a notch or two to get a feel for the bass response, but he's still in break in mode and didn't want to open them up.
