Amp's to consider?

I currently am using my Denon 3805 for a 5.1 setup, but know that I could use some real power from a separate amp.

I will be running a 7.1 setup in my remodeled basement, and want something that will push it to the max, in case I ever step up to the LSi series. I think a five channel amp would do the job, and let the rear's be pushed by my 3805. Is this a good idea?

I won't be buying anything today or next month, but probably about a year out or so... and will spend probably around $1000 give or take.

Any recommendations on a solid amp that will last me years, with plenty of power for HT?

Based on the $ you want to spend and the reliability, I may lean toward Rotel. They make solid products and while I have only had one Rotel amp it was a great amp for the money (RB1080). For 7.1 it may be difficult for grab something for your stated price as the RMB1077 is well above that. I am sure there are others.

Look into Sunfire amp's. I use 2 amp's in my HT system and they drive my LSi's with absolutely no problems at all and sound awesome. Just another amp name to consider. You could probably grab a 5 ch. sunfire amp used for around $1k if not a few bucks more.

Emotiva has a few 7 channel offerings and at rock bottom prices, too. Their cheapest one is $500 http://emotiva.com/amplifiers.html

Does anyone have any experience with Emotiva? They are VERY intriguing.
