OK...I changed my speaker cables from AudioQuest Type 2 to Type 6 and I noticed a hellava difference. Maybe just because I haven't had the chance to listen to these for a while....6 weeks. But, I could swear I hear a difference in the sonics. Am I trippin'?...or what?

I'm using AQ type 4 with the batteries. Made a big difference. Good music sounds better, bad music sounds worse.

If you haven't listened to them in 6 weeks it would be hard to tell. Why not switch them back and compare while the "new" sound is fresh on your mind?

Have a friend or family member secretly switch one speaker to use cable A and the other to use cable B. Then see if you can hear a difference. I'll put big money that you won't :D

I recently picked up Virtual Dynamics David Series digital cable & analog IC's. The difference was an immediate ear opener. Quality cables and the audible difference they can make in your system should not be taken lightly! Experiment & you will hear a difference.

This is the bummer part of having a hi-rez system. I've got some great records of some really good performances but the engineering/mix is garbage and it renders it unlistenable. A perfect example of this is Goats Head Soup by the Stones ARRRRGGGHHH.

I recently switched from MIT Shotgun series cables to 10 gauge Romex. The sound blew me away. I wish I hadn't spent all that cash on those snake oil cables.

I can understand now...I switched cables...over and over and over and over...and I DID find there was a difference...HOWEVER!!!....I am open to the Pepsi vs Coke challenge. I'll have my roomie change the cablse next time I'm home and sample the difference. Right now.......GD this **** sounds good and I'm not wanting to challenge the experience. I've sampled over 15 amp/pre combinations and it alllllllllllll sounds good. I'm in HEAVEN this weekend :)

I thought you just bought my Type-2s last week? Are those the cables you're comparing to your AQ type 6s?

Maybe I should buy some type 6 for my system next!

I got your's Andy...but they are for a system for my 15 year old son. They are matched with a Jolida 502B, Polk Monitor 10's, Rotel RCD-02 (comps from Zombieboy), Macintosh MR-78 Tuner.....His first. I think he understands what he is getting since he tells all his friends NOT to touch DAD's "stereo"...and "DO'NT THINK OF **** WITH MY ****!!"....LOL...That's my boy!!!!

Wait till he gets his car.....1965 Nova SS(Dave Rampley Chassis), 520 BBC...Compucar, 5:45 Gears Dana, Lenco 5 speed Warren/ Curt Johnson,Lunati, Crane, Arias, Manley, TCI, MSD, ATI.....the list is long.

BTW...he's more than ready to drive this since his dad (ME) has had him in more HP than most have ever stepped next to. Go-Carts, Moto-Cross, Super-Cross, Rock-Crawlers, Muddin'...and whatever???? THAT'S MY BOY....his Mom hates me...WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Very nice. I don't know about your son having a better system than me, but at least he knows it's nice stuff and not to play rough with it :)

I have this part down "....and spends more on...and spends more on..."

Once I get a new integrated, I think I'll have a system that will keep me happy for a while. Maybe even a few months this time, instead of days or weeks.
