Hey all.

I am using a new Denon 1507 with my 4's and csi 3.
I have a chance to trade in and pick up a Denon AVR-2106 for very little extra money.
I was wondering if anyone out there is using this receiver especially with an RTI line of speaker and what you have absorbed from the combo.
You can see my earlier thread of Yamaha and rti 4's.

More power with the 2106 and pre outs as well.

Any observations are welcome.

Should have added that this is for 98% video and about 2% audio. A second system in the same room.

Denon makes a good product & you will have the all important preouts for when you decide to upgrade to more power. Denon's match much better with RTI's than Yammies. Not quite as bright.

    Preouts are key.

My thought is not to use the preouts, at least at this time.
I like to keep my music and video completely separate. I don't want to add any flavour to my audio only system.

But....ya never know. Hence, the reason for even having this thought.
I'm still looking for someone whom is using the 2106 to review this piece for me to read (or maybe some links??). Can this receiver provide more than the 1507 other than the power that I'm unaware of?

AV stuff is still a bit new to me. But learning buy (no misspell:D ) trying

    Thanks again,

    Dale

hey man, i have a denon 2106 and a full rti setup. i have rti70's for fronts, rti6's for rear and csi5 and it definitely powers them all without breaking a sweat. i considered getting a power amp cus of all the fuss about them but i cant imagine the sound getting 400 dollars better. i have no complaints whatsoever with my gear right now. plenty of options on the 2106, comes with the microphone to do the auto eq setup so no need to worry about buying a spl meter unless you are really anal. overall a great avr and looks good too. can be upgraded to 7.1. ive had mine since september and i got it refurbished from www.secondact.biz great price there especially when it comes up on its deal of the day (1-2 times monthly). i believe its 269.99 when it is on the deal of the day. pm me if you have any other questions id love to help out. good luck!!
