I just purchased a pair of speakers at a contents sale and need help identifying them. Each has 8 6.5" speakers, 4 1" tweeters, and 1 15" woofer. The speaker weighs 200 pounds and would appreciate anyones help with this. Also would like to build a system around them and need some input. I can't wait to hear these monsters.I'm new and my pic and description may be bad and am not very computer literate. Please bear with me I just want your professional inputs. thanks all.....

There are no Polk speakers with eight 5" drivers and four 2" tweeters.

Did you get the cable that goes between them? That's a necessity.

What are the serial numbers? Can you post some pictures?

The guy I just bought my used-but-new-to-me RT800s from had an all-Polk set up with a pair of RTA-SDAs as mains and a variety of RT55i's and other RT speakers for multiple surrounds and extra fronts and a pair of subs (hell, he's probably on this forum - hey Dennis!!). He had replaced a few of the drivers on the big boys and gotten them to look pretty new (said he only paid $300 for them). We demoed the RT800s and I was sold pretty quickly. Then we listened to his setup (should have mentioned the 4 Carver amps that were involved) and I swear it was almost too much to take. A part of my brain that is usually only alert during bear attacks and air raids snapped to attention and I wasn't sure whether to get in a four point stance or soil myself and run screaming from the house. I'll save the rest of the drawn out exposition - they sound really damn good. Nice buy!
