yeah, got the 535 fixed up with new RCA jacks (just ripped some off an old CD player. I could only find cardas jacks from a place that requires phone orders and I'm too lazy for that). Sounds great, and drives the SDA-2's with ease. I'm really enjoying it this week as the rest of the family is away on vacation and I'm here by myself. Free reign to crank it up! But as well as making louder volumes possible, it also enhanced the clarity and detail of music at low volumes. Overall an upgrade well worth the money .
Now, are there any worthwhile upgrades that I can do to this amp, such as newer/better caps, or anything of that nature? This amp does appear to be fairly old, and by that, I mean mid 80's, if I remember the date right.

Ludicrous gibs!

It's a damn solid amp the way it is. Unless you are having issues, i wouldn't worry about upgrades. If you are concerned research a reputable repair shop and then take it in to have it refreshed. Plan on spending $100-150. You could always send it back to Adcom for a factory tune-up, but with shipping both ways and their costs it will even be more expensive.
In this case I say if it ain't broke don't fix it. . I bought my Adcom new in 1987 and it hasn't given one sign of trouble over the last 19 years. Enjoy it, as it will power those SDA's effortlessly for a long time to come.

I've got four 535s (and one 5200) running my HT. Great amps that I will most likely never get rid of.If...

Welcome to the 535 club. Nice amp and very underrated. I know of a guy running B&W 804's with a 535 and it does ok. I use it to run my rears and it seems to keep up with my 250 watt Krell in the front.
