    Welcome to the forum.

Although the elite series is a little beefier receiver, it isn't rated to handle 4 ohm speakers, like the 25's.

Since you didn't ask for alternatives, I'll hold off for now. However, if you would like some opinions on other choices, myself or someone on the forum will be glad to help you.

I would reccomend it if you like the sound of the pioneer and used it as a preamp and had a separate power amplifier.

Definitely get separates. The 25's are power hogs, but they sound great when you give them what they want.

    okiepolkie and kingkip ,

You offered alternatives. Please feel free to give me your suggestions. I really need your professional help. I did some research on the subject in other forums, but I was unaware of this forum. I purchased the LSi25s with the LSiC and the LSiFX for surrounds because I heard this setup at a local shop. They were hooked up to the Pioneer VSX-72TXV and it all sounded good. If you have suggestions to make that setup really powerful please let me know.

It all depends on what you like and want. Try some options out and don't just jump on something because someone told you to. Your ears need to be the judge. If you liked the sound of the Pioneer on the LSi series go with it, but check to see if they had some amps hooked up to the speakers.

The Pioneer will do great with some good amps.

What type of budget are you looking at for your receiver/amp combination?

I would also recommend looking at Outlaw Audio for external amplifiers, or if you would like to go used, take a look at www.audiogon.com. Some of the amplifier brands to search for would be: B&K, Parasound, Outlaw, Adcom, as well as several others.

I'm glad you are willing to get good electronics to really make your LSi's shine.

 Thank you guys forthe help but i have more questions. So I can use a receiver like the Pioneer and get a sep amp just for the mains? That receiver does have preamp outs. If I do it this way will I over power the venter and surrounds?

Yes you can get just a separate amp for the speakers. But you should get a multi channel amp for all of the speakers since all of them are 4ohms! It's not healthy to over strain your poor receiver. Plus it will just sound better!

 What amp is recommended for the LSi polk speakers? My budget is only around $1000 so I don't have much. I am interested in used equipment.

Could also get something like this and then run your rear speakers off your AVR.

When you get the itch to upgrade, get a nice 2 channel amp to run your front speakers off of and you can still use this one (its a 3 channel amp) to run your centers and back.

Just another thought (for a little less money)

I think I am going with the outlaw 770. It does 250x5 with a 4ohm load. this should be good enough and I found one for around $650. Thank you guys for the great advice!!:D

Excellent Choice. You should be able to get a decent receiver to use as a temporary preamp for $300-400, keeping everything around that $1000 mark.

Report back when you get everything set up.

Nice choice confused! But actually what you will be getting is this.

Power output: 200 watts RMS x 7 (all channels driven simultaneously into 8 ohms from 20 Hz to 20 kHz with less than 0.03% total harmonic distortion). 300 watts RMS x 7 @ 4 ohms.

And do post pics of everything once it is set up!

Well, I bought the Pioneer receiver (VSX-72TXV) because I was just going to use it by itself for a while. Then I decided what the hell and I started looking for the amp. So I got high priced receiver but at least it has some good features.

About the Outlaw 770, I am only going to run 5 speakers. The power should drop a little, right?
