CSi5 and R50's
I just bought a pair of R50's which I plan on using for the front L/R on my 5.1 HT system and now I need to get a center channel for them.
Later on this year I am planning on buying either RTi10 or 12's and to use them as the front L/R (I dont have the money for them now). I will then use the R50's for surround.
I would like to get a center channel that can be used with both setups and according to Polk's website the CSi5 matches the RTi series but the CS2 matches the R50's
I know speakers are supposed to be matched but would it hurt to use a CSi5 with R50's? It would be for less than a year and I would hate to spend $300 on a CS2 and then go out have to buy a CSi5 for $400 in a few months. It just seems like a waste to me.
Can anyone give me any advice on what to do? Thanks

Buy the csi5 is your gonna upgrade. If not get the cs2 match and save $$. Probally won't tell the diff anyway until you change mains with match enough IMO

If youre upgrading in less than a year just get the CSi5 now. I might suggest acousticsounddesign on eBay if youre looking to save some bucks. It wont match the r50's but oh well. It wont 'hurt', maybe a slight annoyance at best.-Stopher

Thanks for the advice, thats exactly what I wanted to hear.

Get the better of the two centers. I would wait until you bought the new mains as well though. The timbre mismatch is no big deal from front to back, but it would annoy the hell out of me going from left, center to right.

Let us know if you can tell the diff in timber match when playing. I wouldn't unless I put my avia disc in
