I just obtained a set of Polk Model 10's at a yard sell for $20. I was just wondering if the Model 10's and the Monitor 10's are the same thing? If not, what is the difference?

Regardless, they sound great. Best $20 I ever spent!:D

Yes, same speaker (short of driver changes throughout the lineage).

The first monitors were deemed 'Monitor, Model 10' in the brochures, so a lot of folk drop the 'monitor' altogether.

Welcome to our humble audio abode.

    Cheers,

    Classis speaker, welcome to CP.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

Excellent snag. Be careful bottom fishin', you might get hooked. 20 for the speakers+500 for an amp to drive em.;)
